    Suggestion:
I am suggesting that EcoCityCraft be fixed so then it boosts the economy and player count.
    Here is a list:
    -PVP in mining world
-Many solutions to help solve this problem, will be stated below
    -Revive PVP as a whole
    -Netherstar market
    -Startools
    -Survival Games
-This thread will touch base on what Survival Games has done, but no changes to it will be made because so many people have played it and invested in it.

(Many others will be added later but as a whole this is what a group of us decided needed to be changed. Most of these have some direct/indirect way of effecting the economy. There are many possible ways of these getting fixed but this thread is to keep them all in one place. While some of these might pass, some may not, but this is still a global place for fixing the Economy as a whole.)

    Reason:

There are many reasons to this thread. Lately, the economy has been in a depression of sorts and it makes players not want to join the server. All of the suggestions that are made will build on one another, so for example Pvp in the mining world will help revive pvp.

    NETHERSTARS:

Look at it statistic wise. Let's say netherstars go for 400 each, and each day a builder can vote they earn at least 1200 or more in today's economy. So, if you look at that mathematically then you can see that:

    $400 x 3 (Three for each netherstar vote) = $1200

    Then:

    $15,000 ÷ $1,200 = 12.5

With this plan a builder can get resident in twelve and a half days, at the bare minimum. Combine working on a farm or mining minimally they can thearetically get builder in less than 10 days. To some of the newer members, this is the best idea since sliced bread! But how does this effect the economy? It effects the economy because builders are the main source of doing grunt work, jobs that Presidents and Mayors can give to builders for minimum wage. Now the higher up classes don't give out much work, so there is not an economy for work at all. Two years ago, there was a lot of work to be had and I remember being an odd-job guy who would do anything for a quick buck. That is eventually how I got to be resident and beyond.

    Star Tools

Now this is directly related to the netherstar part above. I think the sale of Star Tools should cease to exist, thus helping the economy. This will let people have their star tools, but in the following months people will slowly lose their tools due to natural causes or inactivity. This will help the market because then a more diverse way of selling plots, farming, and many other job opportunities will come into play. Since people can make 10k per hour, they don't sell land as often because they will net a bigger profit by using a star tool.

    PVP IN THE MINING WORLD:

Back then there was pvp in the mining world, which made exp prices go higher and balanced the economy well. The reason it was taken out? The main world was getting griefed because people did not want to die in the mining world with their precious resources. This was a good idea to get the main world back in good shape, but it did have effects on the economy. There is a plan to get pvp in the mining world:

Firstly, taking pvp out of the mining world was done so then the main worlds looked prettier. What I have decided is this. Protect a 10000x10000 space. Then just subdivide other 200x200 places. The people would not be able to build on this land unless they had a region in in, keeping it nice and clean from grief! Then the mining world would HAVE to be used to gather resources, unless people want to mine on a 200x200 space.

    Other Information:
This is all I have for now, I will be highlighting on the other information when I get the time to!

Thank you for posting this @Dr_Dragon_Slayer ! As discussed earlier today in global chat I would like to see changes made. I'm sure many other users would too. You make very good points in this suggestions and therefore I fully agree with what you said. There most definetely needs to be a change of some sort. Exp is the main cause of all prices on the server and right now exp is merely worthless and a waste of time to try and acquire. I hope Physicistsmom and the rest of the staff team take this suggestion into consideration.
As an addition to this a few changes you should add to the list are removing kit bfr from sg, decreasing the amount of sg arenas from 8-6 or 8-4, increasing prices for star tools, removing the ability to buy villager spawn eggs or increase the price significantly (1750-15,000) and changing the PvP world from 4 arenas down to 2 to increase to amount of PvP on the server.
This is all I have to say about this topic at this moment, but if something else comes to my attention I'll post another comment or make my own suggestion.

Not many have access to the nether nor do they find any profit in the nether.

I can see where you are coming from but there a few flaws in the suggestion.

    1. There is no work currently for builders to do for people
This means they have to mine/farm probably in the mining world,
    2. If you make Mining World PvP, that gives Builders no chance against veterans on the server.
This means builder have then no way to make money or have to go for jobs that are so cheap that they hardly make any money.

So i cant see this as helping new members, if anything it goes against new members.

    EDIT
Also, if you say there are jobs for builders, we have hundreds of builders coming on each day and most play and have fun in the mining world near spawn.
This would desert that area for one and if there were jobs, only a very small percentage will get job at a horrible rate.

Really 100 builders everyday? That's why there's only about 125 people on each day.

Going to have to disagree on all of your points.

For point 1, there is so much work to be had for builders right now, just as there always has been. Planting jobs. Building jobs. Dirt placing jobs. Clearing jobs. There is just as big of a multitude of jobs as there was before.

For point 2, minecraft has always had the part of having to grow stronger. Yes you may get killed, but that is minecraft. It's about getting stronger and learning from experiences. Remember this is a HARDCORE economy server. That is what people join the server for, that is what it is advertised for.

The traffic over the whole day would definitely show that there are probably around that number everyday,
    You'd be surprised,

Point 1. I see hardly any ads on the server people wanting workers, more the other way aroud, people advertising to be put to work. So i dont know if its the timezone im in but i dont see hardly enough work to justify substituting the mining profit currently.

And yes, its a Hardcore Economy, out of the two word, Economy is probably the more important one that the server has always been based on. Do you have PvP in the Economy, not really needed, but it is there currently in Nether, PvP and SG.
So people join to earn money, not a lot of builders use the chat to advertise and wait for a job, they want to dive straight in and mine and make money.

So maybe we shall have to agree to disagree...

I can't agree to disagree, it's not in my nature :D

There are jobs out there. The thing is if builders don't feel safe in the mining world, then they can do handy jobs and get money that way. In a sense, giving mining world pvp is helping the job economy.

I don't see how your point is valid about the Hardcore Economy. You say that the Hardcore part is just a mere word, but in actuality it is what the server is all about. When I saw the advertisements, I chose ECC because it was Hardcore, not some la-la-easy-economy.

i agree to some extend to have pvp in mining world. But i would more like to see 2 seperate mining world, if this is doable. 1 mining world with no pvp- but lesser valuable recources in it.
the other mining world would be pvp and more valuable resources in it. maybe have this exp gather from mining also. not the non pvp.

Also would be nice to make is so tools/armor/weapons can not be repaired at all. this will increase usage of resources to make new ones, and provide more trading ingame. This would not apply to star tools, only have thoose tools be avalible to be repaired.

I would like to see an economic boost/crafting boost on the server, where blocks would be more needed for. like the pvp suggestion above.

For startools itelf and netherstar i like the tools that i use alot. if you want to lower NS prices, then you must increase the amount of stars that come into the game( but that can backfire). take away the ability to sell ns to server, so the increase will not provide more cash into the economy that may create inflation.

remake of the market area would also be nice. make it easier for players to find shops that buy/sell the item they are looking for. trade list avalibility? or maybe make some trade towers and have lesser avalible spawn shops?

For your first point, if there were two separate worlds, then 99% of people will probably choose the world without pvp. Then the second world with pvp would become useless, just creating more lag for the server. That is why it needs to be one way or the other.

For the second point, I agree entirely except that with my star tool plan, star tools will become useless.

Your third plan, I'm saying to just get rid of netherstar value then get rid of the purchase of star tools.

    @Dr_Dragon_Slayer
Just because we dont have PvP in the mining world, you seem to think we are not a hardcore economy because of this?
Yes PvP in mining World will increase Job Economy, but I dont think it is big enough to withstand the amount of workload that will be dircted through this.
I dont think you can simply do this because we dont know what the builders want, from my observation at being in the Mining World spawn area, they are dozens of people wandering around playing with each other.
I would doubt this would happen if we make it PvP, do you think they will hang around and play together? Surely not?

I just dont see this being the way forward in helping the builders stay on the server, sure its one way but I dont think its the right way. It benefits the higher players and thats about it.

I agree with @alukolli that i would like to see the market redesigned and that is being looked into being able to look at prices of all the shops.

    As for the Netherstar market,
I personally think there needs to be more things you can purchase with your NStars. As i dont see the demand or the hype about Star Tools like there use to be.
One idea, make features payable with nstars, this takes away money from the server yes and also price fixes nstars, but will make nstars a lot more valuable as you can use them for multiple things as well as improve trading nstars.

First Point: I'm saying that because we are a Hardcore economy we can make it a pvp area. There are builders playing with each other? In the trash heaps of the mining world? If you look around you'll see remains of houses, griefed by other players. Once the players see that their houses are griefed, a lot of them leave the server, seeing that their hard work was destroyed.

I don't like buying features with nstars. The server needs money to function.

I think stars should remind the same. But for pvp heck yes. That's a huge part of minecraft and if pvp is enabled in the mining world armor and weapons of all sorts will skyrocket in price. At the moment prices for these are so laughable many people can get full battle armor and weapons for less the half the price they used to be when pvp was alive. For the pvp aspect of ECC we completely baby the players. I'm tired of players hopping into the mining world and ripping it up with eff7 picks and axes. If a player wants to get easy exp then they have to defend themselves while they do it. I'm tired of how much we baby players when it comes to pvp when it's supposed to be hardcore. I mean who are we kidding the only real danger in the mining world are holes made by players -.- it's a joke to call that place hardcore. Adding pvp in the mining world will also help lessen the destructive impact star tools have on the mining world especially because that's were you get all your exp income and the risk of players killing you will make players think twice before being such high price items into that world.

Hardcore doesn't mean just grid for hours I'm safety and you'll be rich. Hardcore means you have to make money while fighting other players while trying to survive.

on a side note- I just read a post above that suggested 2 mining worlds one pvp the other not. The non pvp world will have no exp while the pvp world does. That would he nice as well for the players that complain about pvp.

The question is though, how will pvp help the newer players in anyway other than killing each other. The players that have been playing for a while already will just because able to kill them in a couple hits and what than? The player will most likely just quit after loosing most of the items they were working for. It will just drive them away. Yes, this is a hardcore server but, as @Mission001 stated.
If anything I would prefer having the choice of two mining worlds, one with pvp and one without pvp.

when I first joined ECC and went to the mining world I was shocked the ming world was non-pvp. ECCs banner says it's a hardcore economy and i wouldn't expect any less. I know form personal experience builders think the same way. *example* I always fish at spawn of the mining world and everyday at least 4 builders rush me and start trying to kill me. When they realize that they can't they just leave. Players don't expect a non-pvp world. Thinking that pvp will drive people away is just babying builders more. There is always the main world if you want to mine in peace as well as the idea of two mining worlds. However no matter the reasoning or way you look at it the pvp and survival aspect of ECC is laughable. You don't really have any risks here but falling, losing money on lotto, scammed, or getting griefed. There are others (but unless you have the nether which is dead) you dont need to worry about surviving. That's why ECC isn't hardcore in that aspect.

I can somewhat agree with you that the builders are not having as hard as a time as ecc was about a year ago. The builders think that it's hard but its nowhere as hard as it was. In some cases, I understand that people think Hardcore = Pvp and when they see it isnt they quit. I think though that the two mining world option is the most equal and balanced option so far.
