Other Information: I don't have any ideas... apparently all of mine are too "radical" and "harsh." Well, that's the only way you're going to get ALL THE TROLLS off this server. People don't understand that you actually need STRICT GUIDELINES to get rid of these people. You know what? Scratch Nitwits and Idiots. They're RO's. I'm officially using the term and suggest ya'll do the same. They're vermin that should be banned. I'm going to leave this post open to ANY ideas. Then I hope that somebody will come up with some good ones and then I can put them up here or something. Sounds good on paper, but what if they don't have any money? Maybe they could be banned but automatically pay the scammed player(s) money via admin?
sadly, people that complain about repeat offenders get banned, and the repeat offenders are allowed to repeatedly appeal off the record, and rejoin to continue their antics. #seemslegit
Your signature describes you and I very well. Repeat offenders are the dedicated players. Can't lose dedicated players can you? In my years of playing ECC, I have made many friends that are not trolls. If there were less trolls, there would be more dedicated players. A bit of twisted thinking here; I hope you get what I mean.

not really. i was unjustly banned, and not able to appeal for months. i think this discussion is clearly people that repeatedly overtly break economic rules, and then are back on the server in a week. nice try tho... Also...
I've had an idea floating around a bit nebulously, but tonight it solidified The problem we all perceive is that ROs seem to be not punished enough to stop them from repeating the crime. There are several, widely ranging ideas that have been put into the suggestion stew. There are requests for ECD fines, real world fines, longer bans, etc. None of these ideas are insurmountable for a dedicated RO. Here's my idea. When someone is banned (temp, perma, ultra, whatever) for the 2nd time for the same "crime", change their name somehow. A different color (non-player changeable), maybe an extra icon (like the [$$$]), maybe underlined, maybe an aura / trail that can't be removed, etc. Not something that changes their actual name, but highlights it somehow. In game and forums. This name "addition" could be automatic, and stick to the RO for say... 2 months after their successful appeal? No record expunging, no pleading, no "depends on the Staff member's perception" / non-biased. Maybe something that Staff could do while approving an appeal (step 3? of 7? in the unabn process?) If an RO does something for the 2nd time, no matter what the punishment was, they didn't learn from it. A virtual Scarlet Letter, if you will. No restrictions on what they are allowed to do, but everyone KNOWS that they can NOT be trusted to not commit the same crime again. After all, if they've done it twice... One one hand, this will (no matter what) add some work to Staff. One the other hand, it will be really hard for an RO to scam / cheat / grief / harass someone because they didn't know their previous record. We're not allowed (rightly so, I believe) to talk / chat / post about bans or appeals, but the complaint / appeal forum IS available to everyone in ECC. An RO, marked for all to see, would make anyone leery of entering into contracts / loans / sg battles / whatever with someone that is walking around with a sign over their head that basically says "I have been bad more than once" [Xmas: It would be pretty cool if we could put a piece of coal floating above their head *grin*] (non-programmer, no idea if I'm suggesting something that is really hard to do or not)
What I see happening is an untrustworthy user taking out 5+ loans and then completely dropping themselves in a huge hole. People need to do more research before loaning.
