Minecraft Name: Jason1964 Suggestion: Some sort of official response to suggestions. Reason: Currently all suggestions float around in the void until Andrew comes along every few months and goes through a page of them. I think that staff should form some sort of response to them. Basically, I make a suggestion, after it gets, say, five or so pages of attention, some staff would view it. If the suggestion was 1. Agreed to by a majority, 2. Possible to do, and 3. Logically helping things. Then some staff should decide if they should show it to Andrew. At the end you'd have suggestions funneling in through one side, staff picking through the more popular ones, throwing aside ones that aren't possible, and delivering a few key "diamond" suggestions to Andrew. Any Other Information: I know staff is busy, but I can name several staff (moofink, revanrose6, kukelkuuk00) that read through most suggestions and it probably wouldn't be too much of a problem. Although this seems logical, it is only somewhat logical. A main reason why Andrew takes so long with a suggestion run is because he has so much other stuff on his plate. His to-do list seems never-ending, and far more important things even tend to get neglected at times. Putting forward "approved" types of suggestions to him will just make the to-do list even longer (if he even has time to see what we linked him to), and it would probably take longer to see those suggestions or just as long to see them as it normally would be. It would probably work out better if there was a new thread sticky in this section: "Popular and Highly Discussed Suggestions List." Said thread would list suggestions that fall under some guidelines that you outlined here. This would not only create a list of popular suggestions (maybe cut down on duplicate suggestion threads), but it would be a list that Andrew could possibly have as "top priority" when it comes to looking through suggestions. This way we are not bothering him, extending his to-do list, or distracting him. Instead, we would be creating more of a guide for him to start with when he has time for suggestions.
all that would do is make people complain about why their suggestions aren't on the new list Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4
Once again (I feel like I've been saying this a lot) you came up with a point of view I hadn't considered at first. A list on the forums (made by staff) would indeed help a lot with Andrew. But my worry is the staff not being objective. When it comes to suggestions people can be a bit hot-headed. If they make a bad suggestion they only have themselves to blame, anyway, this list would only list the very best. Not just any old suggestion.
Well... I agree with the concept, yet worry about the backlash. Lets say Andrewkm decided that a certain group of staff, or certain members who volunteer, are to read and respond to every suggestion. If it was volunteers, it would be me, Kuke, and Moofink from what I can tell. We look at suggestions, ask questions, and then discuss it amongst our selves. We then send only relevant/useful/good suggestions directly to andrewkm. The players then get upset with us when certain ones are never responded to by andrew because he decides to only respond to suggestions we send him. Then the players who never get an 'andrew response' feel insulted that we did not deem their idea worthy. And then they rage. I mean I could take the rage, but I don't like seeing players upset over something so avoidable... On the other hand, a lot of players already get upset because they feel no one is listening. Idk... I feel this could go so many directions/places/issues/benefits. This would obviously be up to Andrew though. Revanrose6
Sounds all good and fine but, I'm hoping Andrew wouldn't limit himself to one little area of good suggestions. Unless you guys end up finding a whole page of suggestions (which I've seen him reply to), I'd assume he'd overflow onto normal suggestions.
