Minecraft Name: Jetscat. Suggestion: Move absent threads to Off-topic OR Treat them as good-bye threads. Reason: Recently inactivity notifications threads have became very popular. What i'm suggesting is that these threads are either moved to our Off-topic section, or locked and considered a good-bye thread. There's much more appropriate ways to notify people that you're going to be absent. We have forum pm's, profile walls, and mail in-game, threads aren't needed. Any Other Information: I got this suggestion off of a counter argument I made for this thread. Link To This Plugin: Forum related - not a plugin.
Forum PM's only allow 5 people at a time. If I need to tell 20 people, it's not as easy as an absence thread. Profile walls? Lol? Who ever checks those? XD Mail in-game is all fine and well, but all those other people that I forgot to tag, ect, they'd never know. Not that I'm saying your suggestion is bad, but we should remove them to Off-topic, but definitely shouldn't call them Good bye threads. They aren't good bye threads.
If you needed to tell 20 people, make 4 different conversations. People who read their alerts? All those other people you forgot to tag...? Don't forget then? I never said call them Good bye threads, if you read what I wrote, I said treat them as Good bye threads.
I'm still saying, I'd rather everyone would see that I'm going on vacation. I can't remember all 50 people who want to know I'm gone. And I meant call/treat in the same way, just move them to off-topic, but don't lock em.
There's no accounting for the number of my friends or acquaintances. If officepwnz took a two week vacation, a lot of people would want to know.
I said it as in, I meant that 50, or 100, there's no accounting. By saying 50 I was referring that I had more friends then an easy 10 forum pms, or wall tags could easily hold, instead of a thread.
