Minecraft Name: Alpert3925 Suggestion: Remove perma-banned users from the "Notable Members" list. Reason: I believe that perma-banned users to don't deserve recognition. Any Other Information: If this means deleting forum accounts then that's ok. Users that are perma-banned have no chance of appeal, so it doesn't matter. Link To This Plugin:
±0 I think you're right, it's reasonable to remove players from the notable members list because since they're permabanned they aren't really notable anymore. But however, deleting forum accounts? If that means posts in threads by permabanned players are suddenly removed, that'd create holes in some threads that wouldn't make sense. Just removing them from the notable members list would be fine though.
I only suggested deleting forum accounts because I wasn't sure if just removing them is possible. If their posts were deleted then that would cause problems.
I guess this would make sense. I only notice two perma'd players on this list though so it isn't the biggest deal, imo.
https://xenforo.com/community/threads/remove-permanently-banned-users-from-notable-members.83569/ Already is the case.
There's definitely more than two perma banned users if you consider the perma banned users the ones with deleted forum accounts. Perma bans seem to be abundant these days...
I'm just guessing here but I think its because they aren't exactly classified as "perma bans" on the forums. I think its just a "disactivated account"
Removing them from that list would be difficult; you'd have to revert every rating they've ever received, from every player that ever gave it to them. It's basically the same concept as reverting someone's SG stats. It isn't as easy as clicking a check that says "removed this player from the list". Once a rating is given, it is kept in a database, and can only be removed manually. Removing 10,000+ ratings would be hard...
+1! This would put me up a few places but besides that, they're gone and out of our community so if you are trying to erase the memory of the existence of them on Ecc I believe they should be totally gone.
It may be because the user is not "permanently banned", he/she may be banned until a certain date set way in the future. I will look into this and get back, unless a high ranked staff member replies.
It doesn't work like that lol. The user will still be listed on 'registered members' the suggestion is removing the banned user from the notable members list, which is literally like a search in the database and it lists the users.
I think I have come to a conclusion here. Banned users are infact removed from the default XenForo lists (points, most posts) but it seems to be the Post Ratings column that causes an issue. As the Post Ratings is not a core XenForo feature, it is an add on, the add on Developer (Luke Foreman) may not have added the ability for banned members to be removed from that list.
