Suggestion:
We all know that maps will soon have a 1/8th chance of not allowing kits for that game. My suggestion is disabling the graceperiod when there are no kits. Basically, when the game starts (to where you can move around) you have no graceperiod.
Edit: As most people are wanting, we could decrease the GP instead of taking it totally out.
Reason:
This would add more excitement, would end the games quicker, and would follow the books/movies closer.

The grace period is there to allow players to get equipment to give them a better change of winning. We get along fine with it, and I see no reason to remove it. -
As well, even though there are rarely hackers who can kill people in mass amounts, it would only take one hacker to ruin a game... Then people would have to wait again. -1
If anything, a very slight reduction in the grace period. Taking it out would be too much.-

The most reduction I can see is 10-15 seconds. This will still cause players to not be able to get set up as quickly. -
they should make a board that has games with kits and with grace-period and a board that has games without kits without grace-period.

+1 I agree with no kits I think this should be as close to an actual SG as it can get. Honestly I think the grace period takes away from SG if kits were gone.

If you're taking about getting rid of the grace period at the start of the game, then yes, I agree with you. Reducing the amount of time for the period can also be a good thing. I don't see why we have to wait such a long time just to inflict damage to a player.

My honest oppinion is that there should be no grace period at the start of a game whether kits are involved or not. That is how it works in the he actual hunger games trilogy and it makes much more sense. The chests in the middle of the starting area (the cornucopia) are meant to be risky to go to. And therefor I believe that there should be no grace period at all at the start of and sg game. -

Remove the grace period? U crazy bruh..
But yea, as MoofinK said, reduce it to maybe 30 seconds or so. -

I would like to get rid of it but reducing it would be the next best thing.

Only problem I see with no grace period with kits is the inevitable fact of buffer users. All SG would ever be would be who can drink their buffer faster. Easy kills, easy points (from mass killstreaks), with little to no work to find or track users.
On no kit maps, heck yes! This would make it so much fun and much more challenging. I have played on other servers (no names mentioned) that have a similar no-grace period and it is SUPER fun to play.-

There would still be the 60 seconds before the game starts where users could drink their potions and put on armour etc. -
Still though, what about the people without kits? All anyone would have to do would armor up, buffer up 5 secs before the match starts, and end it before anyone reaches spawn.

I guess that is true. But that is also why people buy kits, to have the advantage. -
Vintage_Gamer BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Premium UpgradeWow.. I didn't see this a first. But you have a good point :D

You may get along with it, but I don't :p. The grace period is now mainly for keeping non-kitters from getting killed immediately by kitters. And anyways, you would have the same chances... its not like you get penalized but others don't.
If you don't spread out (decide to go to the cornucopia) at the start of the match, thats your risk. If you want time to spread/gather then I would suggest finding a route that not many people follow.
A hacker might be able to take out one.. maybe two people (unless they are teamed (in a group)). Other than that the hacker would be killing people as they normally would with a GP. Thats also a strategy thing. If you don't want to be killed immediately by the hacker, then join on the opposite side of him, or avoid games with him in it.
Why would taking it out be too much? You can easily avoid others by running.
If you want to get set up easily, find a route that isn't very popular.
The no kits no graceperiod board has already been denied many times. They have now enacted a 1/8th chance of a map having no kits. My suggestion is when a map is no kits, there is no GP. When a map is kits, there is a GP.
Why am i crazy (explain why you think the idea is crazy)? :p-
