I think its a good idea but there would have to be some way to place town posts

 

I don't like this. One of the things that makes ECC as great as it is is that everyone can build somewhere, even if they've just logged in for the first time. This would make it more difficult / confusing for builders, telling them "Okay there are towns in Legacy, Rising, and Suggested, but you can only build in the unclaimed sections of Rising and Legacy."

As well, we've JUST added Rising, plenty of ungriefed areas for towns in that haven't been taken, so there's always that. Just get towns in secluded spots there. Or you could always fix up the griefed areas outside your towns, there's nobody to stop you from doing that.

This would also mean no mining as well as the no building. This would prevent laying land for the town over water, etc.

If there really is a lot of grief outside of your town, then either don't build there to begin with, or just clean it up if your town is already established. Make it a fun town function. Like Cleanup Sunday or something. Where everyone in the town gets together to beautify the surrounding areas. Great way to mingle and get to know everyone.

I don't think there is really an issue of wild/grief in Rising to the level you are making it out to be. We certainly don't need an entirely new world to prevent grief in the wild.

If the attempt is to make a beautiful world, you shoudl check out Rising. It is very beautiful.

Legacy, well. There are tracts upon tracts of open spaces untouched. There are blemishes to be sure, and I have one in my area I have spent months working on. Techy88 also is dealing with one by his town. This is price of history. The world is old and it has history.

Rising is your world. Check it out.

 

Legacy is a wreck because Mining used to be Resident+ only. Builders had to go to Legacy to mine. The new world should be much better off because of that. I'd suggest instead, if you buy a town, fix up the land around it.

As you can see in these screens, there is plenty of untouched land. That was me, 5 minutes, and the /wild command.

 

I mine solely in the Rising world because I can use /speed 3 there and it is relatively untouched. -1 for this. And it would reduce demand for the towns in rising/legacy.

 

As much as I would like to see this, no. Just make a singleplayer world for yourself and enjoy, that easy.

 

-1 If you don't like what an area looks like in the wild just terraform it. Make it your mission to make the Legacy Wild to look better. Maybe make a business out of it and hire builders to help in your efforts. I know that the griefed areas around my town that cannot actually be purchased will be terraformed by me once I finish my town. They will be made to serve as nature preserves between the surrounding nations near me. Just get creative. I also agree that we do not need another main world. Two are enough, if our population gets so much that there is no room then maybe this idea can happen, but as it is, it took 3 years for us to get another new world, and even though I love it we still had plenty of space in legacy.

 

-115 If you have a mess outside your town, than clean it up yourself. terraforming isn't that hard, your essentially just placing dirt.

We just got Rising like, a month or two ago, if memory serves. I really don't think it's time to either start developing a new one, or release a new one. Andrew's had enough work for a while.
