I am suggesting we change this one part of the mayor app: What will be the name of your new town?: Recently I've seen alot of people do "N/A" or "no" on that question, so change it to this: What will be the name of your new town? (Must get a town): Or something of the sort. This would just make less hassle for andrew, and less fines for users. ~12345shane
Hmm, why not have a mayor application that doesn't come with a town? But anyway, that's a whole other thread altogether, but this does seem self-explanatory. If there are people doing it, it should be made clear that it's mandatory.
There's a line between having to dig around for a post format, and staff having extra easily-avoided work.
People are doing this....? Wow. I just...lol. :/ I agree with Kuke - people need to read the Wiki. It should be clearly stated that you will get a town with Mayor and that Mayor is not simply a tag alone, therefore your town will need a name (a town isn't a town if it has no name, right?). Why would people not want to name their town, anyway? Or in the case of "N/A," people should realize that they need to come up with a town name, or face the fine. Seems fairly simply. I have not needed to use the Mayor application in a while, but if it has small notes (like the Staff application) under the area you need to fill out, I see no issue with, "Town protection requires a Town Name" or "Mandatory" (lots of people don't know what that word means, though).
People need to read what they apply for, if they don't read the notes that comes with the application then it's their own fault.
This might sound a little silly, but, if a person intends to get mayor then they have been on ECC for at least a little while. They should do the research before getting it. But, thats just me... Revanrose6
Like what has been said above this suggestion should not happen. If a user does not even take the time to read the application and rules (which they agree to when getting resident) then it's their own fault. It's not like the information is hard to get Sent from my HTC One
When I first joined I spent a good hour reading through all the wiki commands, guides, and applications. When making my applications I always read through the wiki 3 times then check my application against others in-case I have miss interpreted a question. People who apply for mayor have been on ECC long enough to at least know a town must have a name. Even if they don't, it is their duty to read the wiki thoroughly and do the necessary research. -1
