Hey guys!
I have gotten to be very fond of the lottery (D: help me!) and I was wondering why the lotto is 15 minutes each draw. Within about 13 minutes and 30 seconds, no tickets whatsoever are bought. The only time tickets are every put into the pot is the very last few seconds. So, i am suggesting cutting the lotto time. Maybe have it 5 minutes each draw. This will reduce money in the economy faster as well as satisfy my lottery needs. :)

This can make the lotto pot decrease in size, because lotto will get more common and players will not have enough money to put in a lot of tickets every 5 min.
And that will make lotto less profitable and maybe make it less popular, and that will again make more people do /lot messages to avoid the lotto spam that will occur 12 times pr hour.
And with the lotto messages gone, players maybe forget about the lotto, and now we have even less tickets put into it....
This is scenarios that may occur, but i don't know. Maybe it turn out great, maybe not.
I don't think it will turn out good, so

It takes roughly 15 minutes for me to get 1.5k (I'm slow, shush :p ) So if it was shorter, I wouldn't do lotto anymore.

What do you mean elaborate... make the time 30 minutes or more to get the pot even larger. Really, there isn't anything wrong with 15 minutes but, if it was to be a little longer it would give some people more time to farm to get lotto money.

No need to quote my post because I never suggested a hour. Doesn't matter what lotto used to be, we're dealing with what it is now. Plus, if it 'used to be' something then it obviously wasn't the right amount of time.

did i ever say that i wanted it to be an hour long? i was merely presenting trivia, something that you might be interested in.

Maybe 20 minutes for a lotto cycle?

I agree with the many people here, -1. If you have a lottery addiction, do what @Falconaire or @clou44 does for me (ask them for more information, hence why they were tagged.)

I don't believe shortening lotto would be beneficial, the reason it is 15 minutes is so players have enough time to get money and keep it fresh. Lottery every 5 minutes would just become excessive. Interest in lotto would drop since less money and less profit. Apple addressed a few other good points, so I won't reiterate them.
The reason most people buy tickets within the last 2 minutes of lotto is for a better chance at winning. If you put in 100 tickets at the start of a lotto, it's likely that another player will challenge your large bid with one of their own, meaning less chance of success. Waiting until the lottery is about to end makes it so other people have less time to react to your bid, aka: better chance at winning! Reducing lottery time won't change this whatsoever, players will still wait until the last moment to bid, except now their will be substantially smaller pots because of the frequency of lottery.
Sorry, but I respectfully...

P.S: Considering Lolelf tagged me for this reason, if you want to avoid lotto and the losses it can entail, I highly recommend using the "/lot messages" command. If you don't believe that will be enough, try asking a trusted player to store your money in a Trade Sign. It makes that money difficult to obtain, as you have to go through the player to get it, so you're less at risk to blow it all on lotto.
