Minecraft Name: dork1877 Suggestion: Threads should be locked as soon as the original posted tells someone not to comment in the thread. If you don't want to hear from someone, ignore them. That is what the function is for. Reason: This is a FORUM, it is meant for people to discuss things. If you don't want to hear from people that disagree with you then start a PM or ignore the people you don't want to hear from. Other Information: The staff will decide who and when a post or poster will be edited or threadbanned. Its not up to the OP. Link to this plugin: N/A
Wait wait, this suggestion is for staff to lock a thread when the OP tells someone not to post. It ISN'T to lock the thread when the OP tells no one to post? Why in the world would staff lock a thread under those reasons? It's practically punishing them for doing so. I utterly and completely disagree.
My... My brain tried to think of how this makes any sense... But.. Not even I could decipher the true meaning behind this nonsensical conundrum......... -1
everyone is all making useful suggestions and i'm just sitting in the corner banging my head against the wall repeatedly
And dork, if they don't want someone to talk they ask for a thread ban for the selected player should it be for a good reason, and think of this situation; Player 1: *Posts suggestion* Player 2: *Posts random nonsense* Player 1: *Asks for player 2 not to reply anymore* Player 3 (Mod): *Locks thread* Also, ignoring someone on the forums doesn't do anything except for what you see, it will still be in the thread and will affect things such as other people buying stuff from you. Too many problems and situations where this could be hard to enforce, I'm going with -1.
I find this an argument against forum ignoring more than anything else Not an argument against my point that if you dont want to hear constructive criticism from everyone than you shouldn't be allowed to have a discussion
If a user is telling someone to stop posting on that thread, they are basically doing the staff's job. If the users continue to post, that is the mod's duty to have them leave or to lock it as they didn't listen. It would be fair to punish those who didn't listen to the OP. This would just add onto the workload of staff anyway. -1
...I am going to be blunt. Your suggestion is not making sense and seems to contradict itself in multiple places. Can you rephrase/rewrite your suggestion so that it makes sense? Others don't seem to be understanding it, either... :/
how do i put this... if a user wants to have a discussion but only allow people that person agrees with to participate in it, than its not a discussion its a c*****j***. If it turns into "I don't you posting in here anymore" then no one should be positing in it anymore. its not a discussion at that point. i didn't describe it very well it was not well received i just think that its bs people get to capriciously decide that user x can't participate in the thread because they disagree. yes i have been asked to leave threads for making troll-esque comments but a lot of times i have been asked to leave simply because i disagree. Then if i argue that point i become the troll and the rager and the bad guy so whatever lock this im not changing anyone's minds or opinions
