Hey Devoted here, so me and friend were brainstorming a problem we've been having in wondering if we wanted to buy an adjoining town next to our own, but has the mandatory (I think it's about 15 blocks or so? Correct me if I'm wrong!) distance between them, what we should do in having that land protected. The problem is that what is essentially a 200x15 area is too small to claim, but if both towns were to be connected under the same ownership, say for a farm, the land in between would have to be somehow have to be protected. Therefore, I propose a lesser form of land claiming, something along the lines of "filling in between towns" under the same ownership, to not only allow the player to connect his towns, especially if he's a farm builder like me in which case connecting his lands will be vital, but to allow ECC to utilize what would otherwise be wasted land that we could definitely use to further contribute to economy! If you have suggestions or want to add anything to this, please feel free to leave a comment!
You can connect your own towns directly to each other, and you can connect towns or place it closer than 15 blocks if the existing towns mayor approves.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that is what they are trying to prevent. I like this idea, no question about it. However, I think the only way it would be possible is to pay an extra fee, or just decrease the minimum town size to a smaller size. Either way, at least one of those would have to happen.
As has been said the 15 is not 'mandatory' unless the town next door doesn't want you to be there. For example, I have about 10 towns in a single area all directly next to each other. All you need to bypass the 15 block rule is for the owner of the town next door to say "Yes, I'm okay with this town being here" on the application for the new town.
