Minecraft Name: ModernPerils Suggestion: Offer a 5k (or so) reward for reading the rules. Reason: Many builders get banned because they don't know the server rules. Giving them a reward for reading the rules will encourage them to learn the rules and give them a starting boost! Other Information: I know for a fact that the majority of builders get banned because they can't get up on their feet and get bored... thus they decide to grief or spam or swear. If a reward was given for reading the rules, they would be up on their feet with a starting bonus and they would also know the server rules. This would cause them to stay on the server longer and thrive Link to this plugin: N/A
I disagree. Vulgarity and spamming, being the two most frequent offences, are common sense rules. You should know not to come in and immediately start acting like a jerk, therefore, if a builder is banned for something like this, it's not because they didn't read the rules, it's because they made a bad choice and now have to face the consequences. Plus 5k is pretty steep, we already have a start-up bonus in place, and there's not really a way to enforce this. -1
I disagree with this. How will we know they read the rules? Because they said so? It would almost be like reading the terms and conditions of something. Do you read the terms and conditions of say updating your phone? Most people will just click "Yes, I read the rules" and go on with the update. Same thing here. Builders will just say "Yes I read the rules now give me my money" Basically there's no real way to tell if they read the rules. YOU can help builders stay by making a builderstown and give away free plots and help them out. Giving them money won't make them stay. Giving them the knowledge on how to play the server will make them stay. I also agree with steveshizzle, No server would tolerate that behavior. If they came on the server for the sole purpose of trolling, then they obviously did not join to play the server. Remember, money is just a thing. Helping them out is way more important. And everyone has the power to help, no matter what rank you are.
I was gonna say what origami said.. but whatever. Also, couldn't they just say they read the rules (a bot attack) and there would be like 100k+ just in that bot attack (if 'medium')
-1 I don't think that will help very much and will only pump money into the economy. Our rules are actually really standard and obvious in my opinion. For example these simple rules. 1. Dont' spam 2. Don't advertise 3. Don't grief 4. Don't swear 5. Don't kill in non pvp zones 6. Don't scam and troll 7. Don't hack All these are common sense and common curtsy if the player comes on the server and immediately starts to do these things above lets face it they won't be here long anyways. Higher ranking players in their president+ get banned for these offences so I don't think this will be much help for builders. I mean i personally wouldn't want to take a test or something when I first joined ECC so i doubt they would either.
Excellent and well thought out post with some great ways to help builders succeed. give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime
-1 5k is too much, plus these rules are common sense on any server, you have to be stupid to think you could do them.
-1 the same server rules qualify on the same server and don't need to get rewarded when they already know them. This would just get carried away because they would try to have multiple accounts so they could pay theyre other accounts and would be ranked up in less than 1 hour so -1
- 1 (REASONS) 1. Common Sense 2. Some builders wouldn't read the rules. 3. 5k ECD is too much for reading rules i believe because then all the builders would have to do is get 10k and not 15k... 4. What everyone else said. 5. Etc. - DaisyWarrior
I know, I was dumb to post this... I already said I disagree with myself. Mod please lock @SKSoccer @MonsterOmen @TheHolyStick22 Thx
