Minecraft Name: SRH86 Suggestion: Move "Fundraiser" and "Donate" threads from For Sale/Wanted... section of the forum to it own topic, which would be specifically for fundraisers and donating. Just for clarification I mean donate as in "please give me your money for free" as opposed to "Donate to the server for me in exchange for EcoDollars." Reason: I took a break from ECC a couple of months ago and when I came back my favorite section of the forums had been ravaged by Fundraiser and Donation threads. Why are these even in the For Sale section of the Forum? It does not fit into the section, Mods are always moving posts from one place to another, why are these posts, on occasion, making up the bulk of the posts in the For Sale/Wanted... thread? P.S. For the person who will no doubt bring up that the people are just posting a wanted add, I'm pretty sure "wanted" is supposed to mean, "I'm looking for a DAxe with EFF 5 UnBr 3," NOT "I'm looking for $58,500 to get mayor."
Well, as of right now, the staff have so far decided that they belong in that section for one simple reason. It is essentially a 'Wanted' ad. Considering that 'Wanted' ads are part of the name of the thread section, I don't see a problem with it. They want money...
Attn: Please see my P.S. above in the original message. Look in your local newspaper's for sale/wanted ad. Do you see anyone asking for $1000 for nothing or a free car? No? Of course, no, that is not how for sale/wanted ads work.
I realize that, but thats because in real life you have to generally pay for an ad and beggars don't have money. On ECC using the wanted ads cost money.
Great! Lets make a subsection! Whatever gets the obnoxious "Fundraiser" and "Donate to Me" threads off the For Sale/Wanted section of the forums. And for revanrose6... [For Sale / Wanted / Feedback / Job Offers] - Format Where is the format for people asking for free money? It is clear that the intention of the For Sale/Wanted section of the forums was not to be springboard for freebies and fundraisers, so lets get a move on the sub-section!
Those are suggested formats, which might I add, no one uses for anything… at all lol. Those particular formats I have not seen used a single time in the last 9 months (Since I started ECC.)
Are you saying that the suggestions made by Skylexia are useless? Can I post a thread disusing my favorite sports team in the For Sale section? What about a post regarding jokes and funny videos? Let me reiterate the purpose of this thread, the For Sale/Wanted thread is frequently cluttered up with "fundraiser" and "donate to me threads," I think it makes it hard for people who are looking to buy and sell items to do so with all of the clutter that fills the section.
They currently fall under the 'advertisements' section. But I agree that they need their own forum or subsection.
Posting with a format in For sale/Wanted is a "Suggestion". Posting anything besides what's supposed to go there, that's a "Rule". I'm not sure why you insist on being so hating of the fundraiser/donate threads They do go there, it's not harmful.
Well yes, most people wouldn't look in there, but all the people that wouldn't go to that section wouldn't already go to the threads they see now, so I mean, slightly less traffic, but all the people that would normally go to one of those threads, would go to that section.
