[Suggestion] Ban Casinos

-1 its your own choice to play at a casino and games are almost never fixed I work at lapking's casino and people win all the time yes it is true that even thought they win we still make money but that is how a real casino works.

 

The house always wins. It's rule #1 of a casino. You can't expect to win going into a casino. A general rule of thumb is plan to spend the money on the entertainment, not gamble the money to win.

It's at your own risk.

 

House doesn't always win unless it takes a fixed percentage and is just hosting the event
Otherwise it normally wins due to a increased chance

Don't ban casinos!!! Everybody, they should be used as entertainment, never ever as an investment! Same goes for lottery. I think we must limit advertising of casinos because I have seen advertisers say things like: go to this casino! You will win lots of money!
That is not true. Casinos are designed to profit from getting the odds in their favor. Therefore draining your pockets. But if you are aware of that and use casinos as entertainment, no harm is done and casinos are fine.

 

I used to always go to casinos back in maybe late 2012, early 2013. Never once got scammed, it may just be the casino you go to as most users these days tend to be scammers more then trusted users.

I dont know if i like this suggestions or dislike it. Instead of banning casinos how about we just put more rules to try and stop the scamming that happens in the casinos.

 

My friend and I run a casino and lose profit all the time. None of our games are fixed. I have experienced many other casinos in my years of ECC and I've never seen/been scammed by casinos.

Play smart play a few rounds with small amounts of money if ur not winning simply leave!

1. There are many ways to scam new players and not be caught. This just happens to be one of them. I have been to around a dozen casinos and not one was a guaranteed win for anyone. It would be dumb of me, however, to assume that all casinos are like this. Many of these casinos use a 50% chance of winning but if you win you only make 50% of that bid. The owners make 100% of that bid if you win. This is how most casinos make their money. Now, I'm sure you already knew that but I thought that I may need to point that out.
2. I believe that they had a bit of diversity within the businesses on ECC. There are only so many business types you can have on a minecraft server. I feel that taking out casinos would make the businesses on ECC get a little... old.
3. You do bring up a good point about new players losing their money to the casinos. Although most of the time this is done through a legal casino, sometimes not. My counter-suggestion is that somehow casinos are made fair (I don't know how we'd do this), but not completely remove casinos.

 

Well, we are talking about the majority of casinos that were unofficially established, scammers. Your casino seems fine to me. It would still seem fine if you were making profit anyway.

 

I run a casino with TheHolyStick22 . We have made many players rich, of course there are also players who get poor. Some have won over 15k with a small amount of money invested, one player in specific made $20000 from $5000. Sure he used the money he won to play again, but he still won a ton. I think each casino should be checked occasionally to have it tested to check its fairness. I would be okay and proud that a staff member were to check because I am proud how my casino has made people rich. I truly do get upset when players lose, but it's still for money - as all casinos are. If a player has a problem with a casino, they should ask a moderator to inspect it for being fair. The funny thing about casinos scamming, well I had it reversed once for me - where a player tried scamming me while afk (they rigged the dispenser shooting stuff to always win) Luckily that player was honest and gave back the $50000 - even though they were convinced they didn't do it, even though a moderator confirmed they altered it. This is why moderators should occasionally check in to make sure both parties are being honest and fair :3

 

Its just another way to make money. removing casino's is like removing farming. You wouldn't like that now would you?

 

Just double check what they are doing, how they play it, etc.

I don't see a reason to ban them. You are playing at your own risk. If you don't want to risk losing, don't play.

The majority of casinos that see advertised are presidents+, and most are legit. You play at your own risk, so if you think builders scam (a massive generalization), then by all means ignore their casinos. I have never participated in casinos before, but I do know they can be won-and if they are obviously scams than people will ignore them and you should too.

btw the majority of builder "scammers" scam about 5k or 10k. not a lot.

meanwhile the average ecoleader/tycoon/president/mayor scammer gets about 250k-1 mil profit from scamming.

i have staff members play at mine frequently. Just ask zedoker, pbrassat17, voiD_yO, cracker228989, and others. Have any of them thought it was fixed? Absolutely not. Banning casinos that aren't scams is unjust. These casinos have a legitimate chance to win, and also to lose.
