Thread Title: A command that edits signs: /edit Minecraft Name: ethloboy Suggestion: I think that there should be a command that is called /edit which allows you to edit a sign that has been placed already. This would be useful because some signs that you create are very complex and is difficult to break and change to just add or change a tiny little detail. This /edit command would save time, and is a short command. Reason: I think there should be a /edit command because sometimes you need to edit a sign that is complex and is hard to copy what you exactly typed on the sign, and retype it just to add or change a tiny little detail. This would also be useful for [Trade] signs too. Other Information: When you type /edit, it will tell you to right click a placed sign and once you right click the sign, the format of when you place a sign comes out, except that it already has the characters you have typed on the sign. I think if this were to be added, it should become a new donation feature that costs around $20 USD. Just a mini-suggestion.
I was thinking a $10 Donation feature, but then it's such a simple command so I suggested it as a command for everyone to use.
I was thinking a $10 Donation feature because it's such a simple command if andrewkm were to make it a donation feature
I was thinking ExtCreations+. Is it really that hard to retype a normal sign? I know it is if you have all sorts of color codes, which is why it should be in ExtCreations+. Colors get annoying and if you get the color codes correctly but a small spelling error, it would be helpful so you wouldn't have to retype all the colors.
I love the idea, just a question or two. You have a sign that has 20,000 smoothstone and after hitting /edit and editing your sign. You edit the amount to 200,000 or 2,000. What happens? Or if you edit line 2 to be something other than the smoothstone? What happens? I guess I'm not quite sure what happens to the "stuff" in the sign after the edit with each variable change. Can you expand on this?
That is a very good question, I guess we can say that you cannot edit [Trade] signs then. Or maybe you can only edit exp signs.
And that here is the reason why we don't allow sign editing, they mess up any of the signs with functions, and some plugins even ignore locks.
