Ecc should get the Stock market plugin to increase the economy lets say i invest $500 in 1 stock then it goes down $15 i lost $15.While lets say someone else invests 1k in a stock and the SM crashes the next day then everyone who invested money in the SM loses money. Then some people would get stock(s) and it increases by $3 they make $3 profit each stock they bought of that company. There will be more than just 1 company. This would be excellent for a Economy server like this one.
I love to buy and sell stocks! So yes if there was a way to do something like this It would be awesome!
Here is my suggestion thread with a bukkit plugin for stock options http://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/company-incorporated-stocks.61344/
This would be hard to pull off. There would most certainly be a way to do it, but it involves treating Corporations like Factions, though I'm sure on this server the articles of incorporation would be more intensive as an application to set the bar high and better serve control. It would work if it were Tycoons+ that could apply for a Corporation. An owner controls more than half the stock, and a member will own at least one stock. A corporation would serve best as a determined pool of stock, 1000 shares probably for the IPO which is the approval of the articles of incorporation granting the applicant the 1000 shares to himself. The way shares would work would be through commands. /sm list - Lists Corporations with sell and buy price /sm <Corporation> - gives a description of the business and key stats, including dividends today, past week, all time /sm leaderboard <today/week/all> - gives a top ten of Corporation dividends in indicated time /sm pc <E$ Amount> <Member/Owner> <Corporation> - Member or owner deposits Amount to Corporation /sm bal <Corporation> - Check Corporation balance, Owners only /sm div <$E Amount> <Corporation> - Pays a dividend to all shareholders, fails if amount is not divisible by shares, Owners only /sm buy <# of shares> <E$perShare> <Corporation> - Buys posted shares of E$perShare or less posted to sell and posts the remainder as a standing buy order, cannot be cancelled /sm sell <# of shares> <E$perShare> <Corporation> - Sells shares to posted buy orders down to E$perShare and posts the remainder as a sale order, cannot be cancelled In this way, a corporation's owner is motivated to drive up stock price by providing consistent and sizable dividends. This will ensure the shareholders are motivated to buy stocks and supplement their own income with the income received from dividends. Corporations will then exist in a few states: Thriving - The owner is driving production of dividends and all shareholders are happy. Decline/Defunct - There is no owner, probably as a result of the owner cashing out stock. The corporation will probably see decreasing stock value, until someone is motivated to buy enough stock to become owner Rising - The stock is on its way back up as dividends are again profitable for investors So let's do some math! Owner pays $1,000,000 to start corporation. Owner sells 400 stock in the IPO for $1000 Owner makes back $400,000 off those sales, and re-invests it in the company. Owner pays Dividends of $200,000, getting $120,000 for himself and $80,000 to the first buyers. Since dividends would be limited to one per day, he deposits his $120,000 back into the corporation. Owner does this for a full week, bringing his balance down a loss of $1,160,000 so far. In that time confidence in the dividends has caused the price to escalate to $2800. The Owner sells off 600 shares for a profit of $520,000 The next nearest owner was an investor with 200 shares from the beginning, and he holds out as the stock price tumbles after a week of no dividends down to $350/share. He buys 400 shares making his total investment $340,000. He is able to rebuild the stock by making dividends to $2000/share and sells out then for a $860,000 profit. And so it continues, as the many fall victim to the few who control the dividends.
This would be a great idea because there arent really many good things to do besides farm and mine, this would be another way to make money and fits the economy well.
I definitely agree with this idea! but can you make sure that it is not just buying a stock and making money if it goes up..... but having to sell it. and then it naturally goes down and up based on needs to buy and sell. not a computerized process based on how many sells or buys there are. and also if someone thinks the stocks will go down to have the possibility to sell stocks before one has them and then "buy" them later (an actual tactic in the stock market). this would add realisticness (a word?) to an already good idea. Thanks PAULLUS
I hurried my part of this, and so it's not final or even feasible in the form I listed. However, I think there'd be possible ways to do it.
