Reorganize / categorize the forum & forumboard suggestions.

I think that reorganizing/breaking up General could cut back on misplaced threads (most commonly is question/help threads made in General Discussion) and encourage users to look at everything that is available on the forum.

Currently the General section just goes "on and on" and is like a wall of text... It can scare users away from reading, so they go for the closest thing at the top, even if it's the wrong area to post.

As well, some other minor things at the bottom of the post.

1. What I am thinking is to break up the "General" category, with something along the lines of the following:

(What the category is called could be named differently... However, these are mostly worlds.)

2. As well, the Pictures area under Media states "your creations," however non-MC and -ECC pictures are going in there. Maybe a very quick description change or another area for pictures. Same happens once in a while with the Videos area, too.

3. Other Games could probably fit under Off-Topic, rather than have it's own section.

4. Hunger Games Discussion should be Survival Games Discussion to fit the rest of the server and to avoid confusion/copyright/whatever. Description says hunger games, too. Done at some point.

5. Several sections do not have descriptions.

6. Depending on what type of role-play is popular (ECC, MC, or other), maybe move Role-Play to Off-Topic.

 

It would still be out in the open. o: This is a suggestion for breaking General up; not putting it into "hidden" subforums. It is like when you look at the Media category, or the Applications category. I think Sales would actually be put up higher and in better view if General was broken up and reorganized similar to the example I gave.

 

No no. xD See the forum how it is now? There is ECC Wiki, *Donate | Upgrade*, General, Media, Applications / Special Features, etc. and each category displays immediately what is under them (the categories act as a way to separate and organize). I'm proposing to make it something like [...] *Donate | Upgrade*, General, Economy, Worlds, Media [...]

Does that make more sense? All the current forums/boards will still be visible when you are on the main forum page, they will just be easier to find because of being reordered and organized. For example, the Sales forum will be the 9th you see, instead of 13th as it currently is.

I've been seeing an increasing amount of threads being misplaced into General Discussion simply because people do not want to scroll down and find the other sections. Organization is really key, at least when there aren't computer-savvy people and lazy people (I know I'm lazy, but I'm too OCD about placing my threads, lol).

 

Bump... Not really a nerco, as I still find this applicable/relevant.

EDIT: I added Role-Play section. Not sure what else has been added - my suggestion is a rough idea of organization and categorization.

I feel that this is somewhat relevant because the forum is getting other work done.... Bump? (Suggestions are hard to be irrelevant unless there is a larger thread on the same topic or the topic was already denied/accepted... This thread doesn't really fit into irrelevant, so I personally believe it isn't a necro. :/)
