This is a thread I wanted to make to get the opinion of other donors about pricing of donor jobs. This includes things like doing ereps, cooking pots, tps, etc.... We had a discussion in donator chat about trying to raise pricing on these types of things. So heres a poll to see what people think. I ask if you are going to vote in the poll that you be a donor currently. I understand that people without donation features will be against this but I want to see how donors feel about raising prices and if it would be even possible. The main reason of making this is because of people lately doing things like $0.01 for ereps. That just seems ridiculous. We spend quite a bit of money on these cool features and then people make it so we can't even use them to make money. I understand we shouldn't be greedy but I think it would be good as a whole to try and bump prices up. Thanks as always ~Guy872
If we start asking donors as a collective to increase what they charge, I don't see the harm in that.
"All donators must charge $300 per enchanted repair!" Smart guy: charges $200, gets more business. You can't enforce this either.. "User has been banned for charging less".
Lets say everyone agrees to raise prices to $1,000 each. There will always be a few people that will make their prices lower, just to get business. This would be extremely hard to control. I mean, who doesn't want money. Ryan posted before me. So what he said.
Well, to top off what everyone else has said. You even if you do this, you need to make sure the prices are something the market can bare and also should reflect the amount of work/effort/cost you put into getting the feature. Let me put it this way. Say you do $500 per E-Repair while everyone else or even just a select few people are doing $300 per. You are likely to get less work then those people. Lets say you paid 5k per USD for extcommands and extcommands+. At $500 per you need to do 1,000 e-reps to make that money back. (of course you should consider the cost you now save on e-repairs into how much you are making.) Now the people charging $300 per need to do about 1666 E-repairs to make it that money back. Lets say for every 2 people who the $300 people get you get 1 person. They are now making $600 for every $500 you make because they charge less. Logically, charging less will make you more faster.
I do my donation (water) for free, and no one is going to change that, sorry if you want to make more money, but this is a hardcore economy and we price competitively
I've seen the price of ereps and such drastically change over the past couple of days, for a couple hours it'll go to regular 200$ per, 500$ per trip, and then a little bit later it'll go to virtually free. Some users (Not going to give any names) have decided to basically do ereps for free, because they want to help less fortunate users and expand their reputation. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. I can see how it is upsetting for users that are actually trying to sell ereps for a standard price, but it is the person offering the ereps that decides the price, you really can't tell them what to do. When you bought extcommands+, was there a sentence saying you're guaranteed to make money off it? Or that you were entitled to making money from it? It says you can use the features to sell to other players and make some quick cash. Nothing more. I personally would not support this, though I can understand the other side's point. Anyway, this free ereps things will probably wear off soon, so I don't think you'll have to worry about this whole thing that much longer anyway.
The only donation people need to charge more for is E repairs... that's it water is perfectly fine if done for free, for anyone who is reading this sell e repairs for 500 each it's a fair price if you want to help go sell for less and crash the e repair market more go ahead...
Even if everyone decided to charge 300 and ONE guy charged 200, he'd get all the business. The main issue is, erepairs are practically free. When I give you an E-reapair, I lose nothing. I can repair your bow a billion trillion quadrillion times, and I lose nothing. I can still repair it a million billion times more. If I ran out of erepairs in a day, as if, i did the repair command, and I had no repairs left, then you'd bet your last penny prices would never be free, or rarely. People rarely give away stuff like iron and diamond, because they don't have an unlimited amount. Otherwise, it's a good old fashion "Tough Luck".
