I just have a quick question...when the mining world resets do you lose all the stuff you are holding in your hand? I'm guessing you also get sent back to the mining world spawn too right?

    nope and nope.

You will keep your items. Also, you will spawn in the new map at the same coordinates that you were at in the previous map. If you were underground and the new map is filled in, in that location, you will spawn on the surface.
