I thought it would be fun to try to mine the entire mining world as a group, systematically. Here is what I propose: We mine at y = 7 and y = 11. We mine all tunnels in the z-direction, holding x constant for your tunnel. All tunnels should be 2x1 in size. Tunnels should be 5 blocks apart. For example, I am starting at the 2250x, -2250z corner and mining on y = 11 and x = 2245. I keep going until I hit the other side of the map. When I reach the other side, I will start on y = 11, x = 2240. When you complete a row, please post it in this thread in this format: Code: Y coordinate (11 or 7): X coordinate (multiple of 5): Did you mine a 2x1 tunnel from one edge of the map to the other along these two coords?: Rows finished for Y = 11: 75x 2215x 2220x 2225x 2230x 2235x 2240x 2245x Rows finished for Y = 7: None.
truly you are insane, but then upon reflecting upon what I thought this was going to be its far less insane that deliberately making the entire world an open pit mine
Agreed, but i must say, i want to see the look on andrew's face if that happened. 4500X4500 MASSIVE PIT Maybe try a 500x500 first?
A 1000x1000 pit would be an achievement But just digging rows across the map is fine with me. I think I'll give it a spin. So I just go down to Y 7 or 11 and just mine in a straight line?
i did a 16x100 down to bedrock (on the previous map) and that's only 1/600 the size of a 1000x1000. I shudder to think of doing that 600 times. i'm probably estimating this wrong, but digging the entire world down to bedrock would be 10,000 times the work that I did on the 16x100 pit.
It wouldn't be impossible, if every Eff 7 pick user came, and every Eff 5 and Eff 4 pick user came, and we all worked, possibly...
if we had 1000 people doing it (unlikely), each one would have to do 10 sections the size of the 16x100 i did. it is technically possible, but sooo much work.
Y coordinate (11 or 7): 11 X coordinate (multiple of 5): 75 Did you mine a 2x1 tunnel from one edge of the map to the other along these two coords?: Yes
Two rows are officially done, and there are more in progress or not reported. We are still doing it, salvaotero98.
There are a lot of warps that are near a border. The ones near a corner are: 18, 19, 9 14, 15, 3 26, 27, 6 22, 23, 12 The ones near an edge, but not in a corner: 20, 24 21, 25 28, 16 17, 13 The rest are kind of spread through the middle.
