Item/Rank/Feature: Pumpkin Data Value: 86 Current Price: $0.40 Suggested Price: $0.50 Brief Description: Pumpkins are obtained by farming with or with out an pumpkin axe. Open Discussion: I believe that pumpkin prices should be raised from there current price for many reasons. One reason being, that compared to melon farming, pumpkins don't even make 1/4 the price as melons. I do understand there is a reason for this but the crop still only making around $900 per inventory compared to $3,800 (Melons) is a huge difference. Also, farming in general has gone down in popularity and profits majorly. I think raising the price of pumpkins will give many user the option to make money farming at the same rate as you would be mining. (Unless your using an efficiency 7 pick of course) Over all, I think raising the price of pumpkin will help boost the economy and most of all... farming.
I think the price of pumpkins, and melons should be raised. I remember when I could get 4,000 + with an inventory of melons, now it is a minority of the price. Pumpkins however should also be raised in price. It is a great source of income for new players and, with the right tools used to make good money. Nowadays, your lucky to make more than next to nothing. I don't know why, but I feel that since the nerf of farming prices, it has become a pointless exercise to farm. Mining and Farming should have roughly the same income as all other sources of EcoDollars. +1!
+1 I completely gave up on pumpkin farming because I didn't feel I was making enough. I would surely start again if the price was raised
Is the 3,800 with a melon sword? As if you use anything else, you gain melon slices? Correct? Which would lower the value of the inventory? As i thought melon slices and pumpkins were worth the same thing?
Unless I am mistaken, an inventory of Melon Blocks is worth 3,200 (ish) Never mind... I can't count...
The 3,800$ is with a melon sword, but each melon can drop any where between 3-7 melon slices ($0.30-$0.70) with out it.
+1. I kinda don't pumpkin farm much anymore because I get so little money, but if they upped the price then I would some more
This is a very original suggestion and due to that should be put through immediately. Actually, I think pumpkin should be $0.75 each because that seems about right! +1
I'm not going to explain why, but this is completely unnecessary. Melons are supposed to make significantly more, and pumpkin farming, with its low-cost and low-risk nature, is going to be forced to make less. If you have /speed, or speed pots, you can make pumpkin a primary way of making money. I guess I'll re-state my point: This is an interesting topic. Farming here on ECC has the ability to make or break the Economy. It's one of the few thing that all users, new or old, do for money. Melon farming is one of the easiest, most simple ways of making money. I can make 14-15k an hour, for two hours, and watch a movie at the same time. I share a Melon sword with pat2100 (it's his but he lets me mooch off him) and I'd say I've made about 400k total over the last month two months I've had access to it. What does this figure mean to me? I don't view it as I still have $600,000 to go, I view it as $1,400,000. The Melon sword is still something of value. It still has weight. That 400k I wouldn't otherwise have. However, my point it, the sword still represents money. Melon Swords have sale value, and can be sold at any time. Owning a Melon Sword is, in modern civilization, like owning a sports franchise. You can purchase the franchise, and you'll have some cashflow/profit off of it. You'll me making money. However, you'll never make those 100's of millions that you paid for the franchise. So why do people do it? Because the franchise represents value. You can sell it later for the same or more than you paid. Lets say, you pay 400m for a team, and keep it for 8 years. At the end of those 8 years, you make 200m, and sell the team for 400m. You never made back the 400m you paid for the team, but that team still had value. It represents money. When you buy a Melon Sword, your money doesn't disappear, it's just represented in the form of an asset. Now, with regards to the farming it's self. When I said Melon Farming has the capability to break the economy, I really really meant that. There is absolutely no trade for melons, it's basically just printed money. The reason why Japanese currency - USD is about 10-1 is because Japan went through a recession. They basically "printed" money, and the value of each Yen decreased. It became to "common", and thus people with over 1,000,000 Yen wouldn't be considered rich. It can also work with objects as well. Some Nike shoes sell for $1,000+, but there isn't any real difference between them and $100 shoes. What makes them more valuable is their rarity. What I'm getting at here is we want to keep the value of an Eco-Dollar high, and show how strong the economy is. In a weak economy, Diamonds would cost $500+, and people would have a lot more money, but wouldn't be considered "Rich". Also, I'd like to point out I was the one who suggested the last farming nerf:
There are absolutely no downsides to raising the price so that people can make $18k an hour, none at all. $14400 an hour is way too little and I can't get filthy rich from it. Raise it even higher, make it $1 so I can make $36k per hour. It will be a positive influence to the market, decrease inflation and overall give a nice boost to the economy. I am basing this on no evidence or testing. I just want to make buttloads of money. disclaimer: this is sarcasm, pure satire. You're dumb if you take this seriously. On a more serious note: Are you seriously looking at how much an inventory is worth without taking into account how long it takes for an inventory to actually fill? Seriously? You farm 9-10 pumpkins a second with a speed 2 potion and an eff5 axe. Melons, on the other hand, can only be farmed at the speed of 3-4 a second. The only conclusion I have for this is that you suck at farming pumpkins. All of you suck at it. You can make 14.4k an hour if you do it right. (I know, because I tested it over and over and over and over and over.. You get my point)
