Item: Diamond Data Value: dec: 264 hex: 108 Current Price: $25 Suggested Price: $50 to $250 Brief Description: diamonds are obtained through mining a diamond ore with an iron or better pickaxe that does not. Have the silk touch enchantment. Reason Why the Price of Diamonds Should be Raised: Reason 1: Diamonds are hard to get. It takes a lot of mining to get them. Reason 2: Diamonds are useful. Something as useful as diamonds should cost more. Reason 3: The diamond market is not well. Diamond prices are getting lower, and lower. The reason diamonds aren't getting even lower in price is because the server price for them is $25. A higher server price for diamonds would increase the market price of diamonds. Reason 4: A higher server price for diamonds would make it harder for new players to get diamonds, which would make it harder for them to make money. New players shouldn't be able to make money too easily. If new players can easily make money by getting cheap diamonds, no one will want to work for someone else for low pay.
I agree diamonds should get an increase. We can't rely on people buying diamonds really high like they used to, it doesn't happen anymore. We need a server price that secures diamond higher than they are, but maybe only $40 so people are still lightly to buy for higher in the market and still create a small user-user economy of diamond but at the same time making them worth more and harder to obtain. This would also slightly increase money made per hour mining which I think everyone is aware is less than farming of most crops.
If I may point something out? How are new players getting diamonds cheap making them able to make more money? If I get a diamond at so and so price, I'm not making money, I'm just getting something I can sell off for the same price... If diamonds are cheap, getting lots of them doesn't make you rich...
The only way that diamonds are gong to go higher is you get a lot of money then you buy all the diamonds in the economy then throw them in lava. Because about 5 months ago the couldn't be sold to the server.
Diamond prices crashed in 1.3 when you could get enchants cheaper. They used to be $100+ per diamond, but now that diamonds are so ridiculously easy to get in mass quantities with fortune 3 diamonds are probably not raising ever.
Hey, moving it to $40 is a good idea... When i joined the server like 3 months ago they were around 50 a piece market price.
No..... If the server price for diamonds is raised, then people will sell diamonds above the server price, thus raising the market price of diamonds.
Diamonds aren't nearly that hard to obtain or the market wouldn't be flooded with them. Example: In my single player game they are hard to obtain, I have barely any diamond tools. In ECC I have 50 diamond tools and 64 diamond blocks. Their price is just where it should be. They are more expensive than other mined items yet not insanely overpriced.
Question revanrose6 i am woundering, did ecocitycraft change the generation of Diamonds??? I have like 100 of them???
Diamond prices are perfect as they are right now. They are way to easy to obtain, or get multiple of (Due to Fortune 3). If you went mining with diamonds at that price you can estimate a extra 400-5000 EcoDollars, now if I were to mine for a hour, I make a average of I'd say 8k, diamonds rising will only force the market up, it wouldn't go higher than 60 user wise. When I joined the server in December 2011, you couldnt sell diamonds with /sell, instead to users, the price was anywhere from 100-300 PER diamond, with the prices low now it is more enjoyable, and I know im getting what they are actually worth.
I have to say, there are SO many diamonds on the server. I know of several players with giant vaults of diamond blocks. We don't need to make them more expensive. There are probably at least several thousand diamonds just sitting in basements. Add to that how many people get them mining. I mean heck a few weeks ago I came into about 10 stacks of diamonds in a day.
