I just updated up to 1.8 last night, updated optifine, and re-patched minecraft with the 1.8 mcpatcher (my texture pack requires it). However, my minecraft consistently crashes upon opening when I have both the patcher and optifine running, yet it works just fine when I only have one of them running. I dont know anything about computers and programming, so I dont know why its doing this or how I can fix it. Halp plz.

Mcpatcher is basically built into optifine. So just install optifine and it should work

No texture packs "require" mc patcher. In fact mc patcher has barely any use due to the fact that Minecraft supports HD texture packs.

Just install optifine to a clean version of 1.8 and use the texture pack.

You can only have one of the two installed, most of the features of both are the same. Use optifine.
