Hi economists! I didn't see a specified section for new members to say hi, so I will hijack the General for a moment. I am a Bsc economy student, in early twenties, interested in finance, investments, economics and so on. A future IB Banker, fingers-crossed. I am completely new to MineCraft. I did run demo a couple of times, mostly stripping, digging branch mines. Managed to even found some diamonds. The game looks very interesting, I've always been a huge fan of gather and build platforms. When I heard there is a community', where people actually trade, invest and where natural resources have value, I was really exited. So I was wondering if I could find a mentor here. A person who will guide me through start, give guidance, advice, and maybe even end up being good pals. I don't look any donations from yous, it is not in my interest. I wish to start a decent mine, get a spawn shop, build a nice house and go from there. I will not be devoting serious amounts of time here, because I take my real life rather seriously. So I just want to sit back and enjoy my time in the game and the community, wealth and TOP10 is not in my interest. What I am currently struggling with, is connecting into multiplayer servers. No idea how to do it, whats the server name, or anything. So any help would be appreciated I am looking forward to hear from somebody who would like to build some strong relations. All the best BLSH

Ah, I would say wikipedia was my mentor. She was great too! Totally suggest her! But one day, all relationships end. Here in ECC, there many things that could be done, ranking up to the top, earning your star tools, running your shop business and so on. It looks to me that you've already skipped and read our wiki, from your post earlier, if you're not sure of anything, hit me up on the forum inbox! I would be willing to help you out in-game, whether it's advise or showing you around the server. You won't see me too active this week since I have finals, but be sure to PM me in-game whenever you see me if you seek help. What are the ranks? There are many rank ups on ECC, to start with, the builder rank. This is you first rank that you start off with, nothing too special with it, just a limited amount (Around 25 I believe) of Locks and access to the both main, mining, pvp and SG worlds. A builder can rank up to: Resident - Main ranking up line, this rank enables you to rent your own shop, and has more locks than a builder does. Not only does this rank give you more features, but also earns the trust (not all of it, but some) of fellow community members.Residents also get access to co-mayor a town, they can only add and remove members of the town. This rank costs 15K ECD. The colour of the rank is Lime Green. Pilot - Access to the aether world, this world is a 100% grief free world, and is basically floating islands on top of the deadly void! One word describes this world : Creativity. This world is mostly used to build exotic structures (Rules of appropriate building apply) and show off your fancy designing skills! This rank costs 20K ECD. The colour of this rank is yellow. Survivor - Access to the nether world, a hell with PVP enabled. This world is for the bravest of them all, go mine Quartz and use it to craft, or battle out with the passive mobs and other players. There can only be one person standing. (Read the wiki section for rules, as several of those apply here). This rank costs 20kECD. The colour of this rank is purple. After managing to get the main rank, resident, your next goal is to start a town. While you may be lucky to get co-mayor from being a trusted person with a mayor, it's always better to run your own town. The rank 'Mayor' is your next destination. Mayor - This rank comes with your very first own town, hurray! This town gains even more trust of the community, and gives you access to many things, such as applying for a : Town portal, town warp, town private chat channel and a town private PVP arena. This rank costs 85K ECD and its colour is Green. The last of the so called 'Main' ranks is President, it's time to expand your town and grow your nation! President - This is where you get your second town and you choose your nation's name here (be careful, choose wisely). The rank gives you access to applying for 'Additional town' apps, which get more and more expensive each extra town you buy, and town to town portals which can link your towns together (Read the wiki for more info on this rank). The cost of this rank is 180K USD and its colour is orange/gold (It's more like orange to me to be honest). I hope I covered up the main ranking up, I will do the second part of ranking up, ways of earning money and different world features in a later post. Thanks for clearing up the Ranking 7am, and for the six steps Timmy. I am also currently writing my exam report in statistics, and there are four more to follow in January. Since my deadline is fast approaching, I have told myself to first finish the report and then enjoy the leisure, so it might take some time before you actively see me wondering around the world. Since I have been lurking the forums here, I just thought I'd say hi. I will contact the people who have offered me their guidance. Hi BuyLowSellHigh, like Delucaco said, don't waste your money on the lottery. I have been playing 1.5 years and I think I have bought only 5 tickets or so. The current system we have in place is for every ticket you buy, costing $1000, you are taxed $150 meaning only $850 goes into the pot. If you do decide lottery is for you and you want to have a go, limit yourself to 1 a month maybe, and play when many others are, it means more money if you win! I would also say that lotto is a rich mans game, very rarely do lower ranking players win as they cannot afford it. Mostly, tycoons and above play lotto, and play big sometimes gambling $30,000 to $100,000 a turn. Finally, I will make you aware we sometimes have big lottos, where, I believe, the whole $1000 is placed into the pot, everytime someone buys a ticket the lotto goes on, I believe some players have won upwards of $3 million this way, so this may be a good time to play! Yeah, it did. I sort of forgot about that. Even though there is no tax on the lottos profit will still not be made on average.
I don't play lotto anyways Though you made me curious, who runs lotto and who gathers the profit? Or will the whole pot be given out? What is the tax used for? (Not tasking in a manner of a dissatisfied citizen, just hearing 'tax' makes me curious)
Hi, I believe that the tax is collected by Phys (owner) and the balance is cleared weekly I believe. I am not an experienced lotto player so I am not sure that this is correct! I think it is!
