Andrew asked me to make this:

The Netherstar Collector medal says to collect 2000 netherstars instead of a doublechest full like the other collector medals and when I applied for it a long time ago, it used to be a doublechest of nether stars.

I agree, pretty sure it was a full double chest.

This was an intentional change made in December 2018.

In terms of cost parity, the underlying logic makes sense, as a full dchest of nstars would be around 3 times as much as the cost as a full dchest of emerald or diamond blocks. Would also make sense considering the fact that nether stars at $800 are historically costly so someone paying a dchest of nstars would be paying far more than, say, Videowiz back in 2013.

A double chest of nether stars is more of an achievement than a mere 2000

    1 dub of eblocks @ $270/block is 933k, 1 dub of dblocks @ $225 is 777k and 2,000 nstars @ $800 is 1.6m, wouldn’t it make “sense” if it was changed to 1,000 stars instead of 2,000?

Netherstar has always been meant to be the most expensive.

It actually isn't. The bulk of nstar medals were either obtained in 2013/2014, August 2018 or during the December 10th conversion from EXP medals.

2013/2014 pricing was around $400 per, if not even lower (It was around $350-ish during the Summer of 2013). August 2018, Main was essentially dead (everyone played on SB, and even player count in that was fairly low), and looking at the logs, nether stars went for as cheap as $250 a piece. And finally, EXP medals (which represent a plurality of those who have earned nether star collector medals, due to the December 10th conversion) took 500,000 EXP orbs to be obtained. Even assuming the ridiculously high price of $2/orb, that'd be only $1 million (and the orb price was almost always half of that, if not less).

In other words, it's arguably a bigger feat to obtain the collector medal now than it was at most other points in ECC history when they were obtained.

There's a difference between total equality and making sure prices aren't too out of wack/disproportionate to each other.

Imo, it shouldn’t be a full dchest (3456 nstars). That’s close to 3mil in nstars at market value (assuming each star is $800 and not going to be raised anytime soon). However, 2000 nstars seems low now that both the melon sword and Eff7 pick cost 2200 nstars a piece. Maybe it should be 2500 nstars for the medal, but that’s just my opinion.
