so after emau post i treid again and no dice, but the reason is my set up i had already speed potions made and was just adding redstone and glowstone to get mcmmo exp to level up faster. Creating a new potion will give you mcmmo exp, but adding redstone or glowstone to an already made speed potion does not i haven't used potion in 2 months has anything changed since? or is this on purpose to prevent exploits? @Emau since you already bothered to check this could you also try to check this? make a speed pot, nether wardt, sugar, redstone(mcmmo exp gain expect in this phase) and then add glowstone and redstone (mcmmo exp gain not expect in this phase) again to see if you gain mcmmo exp
I actually made a new potion (netherwart, magmacream, redstone) in my original test. I received mcmmo xp at each of the three phases. I'll try again with a plain speed and then do glowstone and redstone alternating. I'll try with an already made potion and a newly made one. I'll post in about 30min. ----- EDIT: @zorracraft OK so it seems that the stage which you get exp for "switching amplifiers" has been disabled. I did not see any changes in the github history, so I do not know if this is something ECC did without informing us or a bug. You may want to tag TfT_02 as he seemed pretty good at keeping up with alchemy. You get exp for every other stage (from the base potion to adding an amplifier and even making into splash). But trading redstone for glowstone (amplifiers) and/or back again does not grant exp anymore.
@Emau thanks for the help dont know if TfT_02 is around with andrew leaving so i am gonna tag @Dewsy92 (sorry in advance if i should not but hey *shrugs*) maybe you can give us some answers to this?
I second this bug report. Don't know if its a bug or not, but I'd like an explanation if EXP granting from this was disabled : - )
@JamieSinn it appears its still not fixed i edit the bug report to make more clear whats wrong instead of people having to read the whole thread, whenever you have free time take a look at this thanks
I can confirm that I did not receive EXP either. I received EXP for adding nether wart, sugar and redstone dust. But I did not receive EXP when I added glowstone dust.
I can clarify what is going on here, a while ago I attempted to prevent gaining Alchemy XP when switching potions back and forth between stages. (Adding glowstone= > redstone => glowstone). Because this way of earning XP is extremely cheap and "cheaty". Problem is though, that this system is not perfect as it is yet. So sometime you might not gain XP when you would expect to. I've yet found a good solution to tackle this issue.
Not sure if related but earlier today I started only getting 1 exp per wood block when I should get 40. Relogging fixed it though.
