---Mayor Suggestion---I think the server should have players have a limited time to get a town. This would not be forever. The reason I think this because; ● Players are getting town(s) fast of somewhat. ●Some town are getting deserted. ●There are so many Mayors on the server. ●I think towns should be populated, instead of the towns at some-point getting deserted. This is just my thought. Thank you for reading.
I don't like the idea, there are Mayors because they made there way to it, not like they hacked in the money some how.
I do like the idea, but I have issues with it. Basically what Jetscat said: Users earn their money through hard-work (whether in-game or by making money IRL and donating), and they should be allowed to make a town once they have the money. I believe I posted somewhere in the past, suggesting that users cannot make a new town (President+) unless their current town is well-established and going decently well. By doing that, it encourages users to work on their current towns before making a new one. So, in theory, there would be less empty towns.
Problem with that though, is that if you want to make a big town. Like 200x400 town, then you wouldn't be able to easily because one side of the town would have to be made first, then the other half.
Yeah, good point Moo, but i still think that they should earn that via; hard work. (I worked hard for mine, real life work to be exact.) But this would lower the amount of towns just being abandoned. My final thought is it has Pro's and Con's but i think the Con's overide the Pro's just my Opinion on this topic.
Like Donut said, towns ARE being dis-populated/forgotten. There should be some kind of action taken that deletes or un-protects towns that are being forgotten.
Hmm idk, what happens if someone goes and wants to take a break away from Minecraft? Once they come back, there town is gone. I think this may lead to trouble, for Ex; WhiteRaptor, he has been gone for a few, and he came back today, dont you think it would kind of suck if he returned to see his town has been Removed/Replaced? Idk, but that does not seem like a good idea to me, unless it's a Banned user or a user who has said "I will be quiting the server".
I do deeply miss towns like Athens for example; This town has been put with hard work from welikelike22. He made tons of plots, the town was great but more town were being made and getting portals and things. Half of the town was forgotten and plots were never bought. Then he decided to wipe the town and start fresh. See things like this happen also. It just doesn't seem right. (This is not a insult in anyway to welikelike22. I am just using his town as a example.)
This would just cause tons of issues. If that would be the case, it could be stated so when making town applications. Though, I am doubting that most users would ever have enough money to buy two towns at once; so they likely have plans already for how to make it work out. What I've said before is still the only thing I'm going by in this case. :/ And even it isn't the best solution. Raising Mayor and President town prices won't change much, anyway - The economy is becoming inflated. People donate for a lot of EcoDollars, it spreads around through lottery and other means, and never goes away. Raising the prices won't really change much, other than increase the inflation. Though, I have seen more people getting Nether over Resident, Mayor, and President. Maybe towns will slow down in the creation-process, and less will be made?
at least with the transition to 1.0 there where towns with inactive mayors which are no longer around, I think things are fine the way they are as long as the map is changed now and then to clear the inactive and banned (such as Khyber) mayors towns off the map.
I do believe there are a lot of towns on the map that nobody really uses. But towns aren't just for plots. Look at Wolvie, he uses it for pixel art with the galleries. Siegrain for Sios is a giant farm. Raising money for mayor also gives players a motivation to keep playing on the server. If you restrict mayors then people will lose interest in the game.
