Minecraft Name: LRP85 Suggestion: Make shout spam illegal, or make ignore, well ignore shouts. Reason: People shout spam just to be annoying, making it hard to see discussions and clog up the screen. It is extremely annoying when it happens and nothing can be done about it as of now, sine ignore does not ignore shouts and it is legal to spam shouts.
id like to see this happen. a certain user was spamming in global and i couldnt take a screenshot because of pwertool shout spam. the user got away with the global spam and no mods would respond to my pms
+1 even though it takes $ out of the economy, there is a limit. It gets very annoying after a whole and there is no command to block them
The reason shout spamming is allowed well lotto spamming is not is because shout spamming takes money out of the economy.
So let people legally annoy other users just cause they have to pay to do it? We'll that's where ignore would come in if it ignored shouts. If I don't want to see some one spamming shouts I shouldn't have to. It's annoying and stupid in my opinion that they can troll with shouts just because they pay to do so.
-1. Your suggestion is already written in the rules. Go read. It provide a fabulous money sink. On a bad day I'd still be willing to guess it takes 100k out of the economy to prevent inflation. This is not counting the massive shout war we had an hour ish ago that probably went through 150-200k worth of shouts in 10 minutes. I personally think that all shouts should be legal, whether spammy If you feel as though you're having an issue talking to someone then file a complaint (or go to a staff member in-game if you need an immediate fix), as it's a violation of the rules... Easy fix. I think you're going at this from the wrong angle. I think that maybe you should make a suggestion to have a perk to being a donator; when you ignore someone it ignores their shouts too. EDIT: In chat: "/lot messages"
Well mod in game told me it was legal. Didn't realize it was only to an extent. The shouts a little bit ago we're making it hard to read. Still why can't ignore in fact ignore the users shouts? Why should you be able to see a persons shout if you don't want to see what they say. That's the point of ignore. And over a hundred and fifty shouts in less than ten minutes don't seem annoying to you at all? That's a lot of spamming.
So because they pay they have the right to troll and annoy? I don't think that's right. If I don't want to hear them in chat I shouldn't have to.
What I was saying was add it in as an "all donators get this perk" kind of gig. It would be basically the same thing as "/ch leave trade", bypassing the character limit, or accessing the VIP chat.
That's a good idea too. Just something so people don't have to deal with shout spam cause it is annoying when some one spams shouts.
There's already a limit. I learned that the hard way :/ People pay 1k for shouts, why should you be able to ignore them? the point of shouts is to make a serverwide announcement that everyone should be able to see. Theres no reason to ignore them.
make it a set limit instead of the vague rule that can be interpreted however you want. ive gotten mixed answers from staffmembers. one of them said it was fine and the other said it wasnt. even staff doesnt know whats too much and what isnt. the limit should be stated in the rules just like its done with trade chat. limit it to like 5 shouts a minute or something.
-1 I have seen many people get warned. There is a limit and the spam is not supposed to be "excessive." I have also seen players ask (harry with his epic 87 powertooled shoutfest in less than 10 sec). Excessive could be a different amount depending on the time of day, the amount of 'other chat' going on, the length of the message, the amount of time in between the shouts, etc. To define an arbitrary amount would be pointless. The simple fact is after a, relatively, short amount of time, they won't be able to afford it much longer. Personally, if someone wants to waste 100k for 3 minutes of spam, then I can wait 3 minutes. I'm not going to get all worked up. My unsolicited advice: If you think someone is spamming shouts excessively, then ask staff. If they say it is okay, then just take a step back and wait it out.
