X ray is a permanent ban, but I feel that on an economy server, fast break is actually a more damaging offense to the economy. Fast break on melons can probably do over 40k per hour. I don't think someone with xray could do 40k per hour. Also, all the money is from /sell hand which makes it worse than xray mining because it causes more inflation. I feel that fast break on melons should be a permanent ban. At the very least, the punishment should be extremely high. Like a balance or player .dat wipe.
I feel that if you fastbreak, you should get your balance wiped, on top of a ban that is atleast 1 week. Since xray users who appeal to andrew undergo atleast a week tempban, i think fastbreaking should atleast be the same.
But you mine with fast break? Jk Jk you know what I mean But yes, I do 100% agree with this, it should be just like X-ray, permanent ban, donators may appeal with A week temp ban and balance and/or .dat wipe.
I think that every user should have another shot at EcoCityCraft if they got banned for fastbreaking. Because every user has a chance to turn themselves around. Although _TANSTAAFL I understand your point of veiw also :3
The fact is that I am seeing more bans for fastbreak than xray now. Why, because people profit greatly from fastbreak, from videos I have seen, it is like using a pumpkin axe on pumpkins. Those that do it earn at least 3 times as much as anyone else. These people can then get ranks, other items, towns and all sorts of things. They still keep these things after they get banned. I really think the answer is to roll them back a rank and wipe their balance. Or perhaps the punishment should be as severe as auto-farming. It is these people that bring down farming prices for the rest, due to their unfair advantage, and they should be punished accordingly. +1
So here is my two cents. I don't think a permanent ban is necessary, however, I agree that a bal wipe might teach those players a lesson, yet, I can see a way around that as well. It is possible that they could have simply stored the money away in signs. The best thing we could probably do is make it a .dat wipe. This would mean anything they were holding, including their melon sword, would be deleted. I feel that this may be the perfect punishment and would really hit home with fastbreakers. Revanrose6
Why not just roll them all the way back to Builder rank? In this way they go back to have nothing at all. Reset everything with them. The towns get removed, and everything they hold. The locks too (if possible without serching). The only downside is that they can have hidden their chest somewhere, or maybe know this will happend. If they know the punichment, they can hide so many chests of melons, and get all the monet back.
Removing their towns could harm other players, not just them. Anyone living in their town would suddenly find their supposedly protected stuff griefable. I don't think it is a good economic move to remove the town protections. Revanrose6
Andrew could easily track tradesigns down with his logs, an inventory wipe may not actually remove his melonsword, it could be in a chest somewhere.
I always thought fastbreak and Xray were punished the same. Agreed on this suggestion. But as for wipe, I agree it should be done to some extent.
Give them a week tempban and have their balance wiped and if they break another rule they get 3 extra days added to the tempban like say you got banned for fastbreak = Week tempban. Next offence of rule breaking = 1 week 3days. Etc.
If one managed to get banned for fast break twice and staff can still remember off the top of their head what they were banned for the first time, they aren't coming back.
I think they should get a ban, but they are allowed to appeal to come back with having nothing (.dat wipe) on first offense. Second offense is a permanent ban.
I think bvhu ment that if they have any other offences like... Scamming! They would be bannd for 1 week, 3 days!
Why do people get perm-banned for economy exploits like the cocoabean issue, but not for fast break? It is just as blatant of an exploit, imo.
I agree but I would not just say fastbreak, I think if someone gets caught using "ANY" type of hackedclient or something that could potentially harm the economy should be perma-ban. It could be something like maybe if you are a builder you get 1 warning because maybe you didn't read the rules but if say a president or higher gets caught they should be perma-banned they know the rules and mods can't know how long they've had it. They could have been using it the whole time messing up the economy. P.S. I hate cheaters!
