I think you should be able to enable and disable local or global chat. For instance, when your in local chat you should have the option to turn off global chat making it easier to see local chat. This would help when there are many people on the server.
you can leave the global chat with /ch leave global or /ch leave G You can NOT leave the local chat for various reasons.
