It's in Ontario as well, which is where he is from. Although I do not think that mid-western Canada has bagged milk though.
That's just the French side of the box... in Canada ALL cereal boxes have an English and French side because they are our 2 national languages. Not just quebec...
That's pretty cool. More countries should promote bilingualism. Here in Northern Ireland, there's much promotion of the Ulster Scots and Irish languages, but in reality they're minor cultural languages. We should be promoting utility languages, like French and Spanish.
Only the languages that are spoken the most should be promoted... (English, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, German, Italian, etc) Because in Canada finding someone speaking other than English and French is really really hard... I've only ever met a person who spoke Korean in Canada but he was an immigrant.
Maybe we need stronger, more effective, linguistic education to increase the linguistic capacity of a populace. If Khan Academy started offering language videos and lessons, that would help.
I went to California a couple weeks ago and it was a huge culture shock for me. There were so many different cultures, so many different languages. Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Arab, you name it. I went to Disneyland, downtown LA, and then drove up to San Francisco and i'd never seen such diversity. I'd also never heard so many different languages in one place. In one day I heard and met people speaking those languages above as well as Italian, French, Swedish, German, Russian, and Swahili.
I live by Toronto, Ontario. Bagged milk isn't Canada exclusive, this is just a stereotype that people from America made. Many don't even know that other parts around the world prefer bagged milk, most Americans just think everyone do what they do, that isn't true. Places like India, Poland, and Israel all use bagged milk. It isn't like we don't offer jugged milk in Canada, we just simply prefer the bagged style. Some advantages bagged milk has over jugged is: smaller packages means less spoiled milk, the bags are recyclable, they use significantly less plastic than jugs, etc. I have never once seen spoiled milk in Bagged milk, I have however seen it in jugged. Bagged milk will continue to spread, and Americans will just think it's Canadians who use bagged milk over jugged, one day everyone will use it, and we'll take over America. These two are the biggest stereotypical people I have ever seen.
