Yeah, exchanging real life currency for ECD's through the server is honestly a horrible idea. Such a low price encourages users to interact with other players in need of donation features. As Railef said, the normal rate per USD is 6k, I highly recommend you use this method instead of transferring through the server.
Just make sure you are clear about $10 Gift Card and not 10k in ECD. (Grumble grumble, moan moan). On more than one occassion I have had to "clear up" some confusion. Why someone would think I was paying them 50,000 for 10,000 baffles my mind.
DO NOT BUY the 10,000 ecd for 10 usd. If you are only going to donate $10 sell a 10 dollar gift cards to another user for 60k unstead of only making 10k for the donation.
Buckeye, the big problem here is that this is a trust trade that is occurring. Usually people selling gift cards have sold them in the past. The issue here is that if one person doesn't honor the trade, the person who did honor the trade is just out of luck. So, usually the person paying ECC dollars pays first. I believe that you can use the contracts forum to set up a contract for selling a gift card once you have a buyer. I don't see anything in the rules that disallow it.
