If I remember correctly, ECC was at its heights when these groups had a huge presence on the server. It brought ECC gameplay to the social-group level. I think if players were to create something new it may be better than any other content could be. How can we do it?
absolutely this Players can't work together without some means of communication, and while parties are nice, you can only be in one. Town chats allow groups to thrive and work together, as well as encouraging newer players to stick around since they can immediately get involved in a smaller tight-knit community.
Party chat was a thing... now that it is broken it makes having clans/parties worthless... When clans were a thing it was a lot of work and many of the people layers that could manage a group effectively have gone or are doing other things.. I have considered bringing Die:Mund back many times. At its peak we had over 50 members all working together to accomplish all kinds of goals... mainly mcmmo leveling. I still have the base with mcmmo trainers.. storage... etc. I guess if enough players showed interest I would consider bringing it back. It’s still the only clan that has had 2 devs.. 3 admins... several GAs... many staff... and.. well whatever jamiesinn is.. all as members or leaders.
Already suggested that... won't ever come back. And the only way to encourage clans again is reviving sg/end or other forms of pvp. SG was really the force that made America and TeamRheas so strong, even though, SG is dead and will remain dead. Only way I'd think to get clans back is to go into the end. Even though, prices are nerfed and there's no incentive, and I highly doubt prices would raise a penny.
Even before the nerf, the end was already dead. The only way I would see to revive sg is to make it less pay to win. Or maybe add kitpvp sooner.
TR and America probably kad a hand in killing sg as well. I clearly recall half of games being a single team and just splitting the profit. Was it fun for us on the team? Sure. For those who got killed by a giant mob every game? No
Yeah honestly, this was the reason I quit SG and went from like #70 to roughly #200. But in all honesty, small groups are not a terrible thing. I know (old) TeamObey and Xboy’s angels were two popular smaller Sg groups that did make things fun
Not only is a better SG pvp system is required, but you also need people who will be dedicated 24/7 to go SG when the team needs them in order to win. During an SG tournament when I was on staff and bttp was on vacation, I admit I disregarded chat at occasions due to sheer concentration on winning games. It’s a toxic habit to get into competing with other players and I’m happy that it’s now just memories. Much rather prefer chilling with friends in chat now.
New SG/PVP More active players period Some sort of private chat you can apply for (used to have town chats for this)
Yeah sg was awful if you weren't on a team. If you had any amount of skill you just got hunted by like 3 people at the start of the game. That definitely isn't something we want to encourage again
