Simple thing. Give residents 1 extra home. The fact that it costs $15 just to be able to set more than 1 home can be off-putting for people. If anyone needs more than 2 homes then I'm sure they're willing to pay the $15 for more homes, but for a new player who just wants to set a second home I think getting one upon reaching resident is a reason to stay. It's a small thing, but the little things matter. To make it so that multihome is not useless, make it 10 homes instead. (5 homes is already a way too small amount for $15, especially when you get 20 more when you pay $15 again)
I like this idea - but am unsure whether Resident, Mayor, or President would be the best choice for this.
I would personally put it with Mayor, as that's really the moment where you need multiple homes since you have a town and probably a plot somewhere at that point. +1
+1 I like the original idea of "with Resident": 1. Gives an additional incentive to Builders to rank up 2. Let's Residents have a "home" home and a "money making" home (mining, farming, etc.) Also like the first Multihome to be 10 instead of 5. Multihome+ is 20 more, for same price. As someone with Multi+, I don't think I'm getting cheated by raising the level under me to 2/5 instead of 1/5
I like putting it with Resident. Putting it with any other rank completely missed the point of it being usable by newer players. It would actually allow residents to live somewhere without giving up their money-making home.
Or any featureless user for that matter. Your post, along with GStoner's, leads me to conclude that Resident is the best rank for this.
-1, currently residents seek out towns with warps as they only have one home therefore need a way to get to their plot.
He's implying it lowers the value of warps because some residents wouldn't specifically look for towns with warps when they can just set 2 homes. Which is a ridiculous implication.

Why don't we bring back /bed homes. /home bed that is. We used to have it enabled a long time ago, you'd set your spawn at your bed and you could /home or you could /home bed. I suppose it's an almost identical concept, but makes you work (a tiny bit) to get a bed and then set your home.
+1 This is a pretty good idea, I don't know about the 'more homes with multihome' thing, I think it's a good idea but probably won't be added, but I really love the idea of getting another home with resident.

+1. Only concern is the article on the wiki would need to be revised in when homes are wiped due to inactivity.
