game crashed whilst I was in vmr

    It happens occasionally for all worlds. Just open Minecraft again and rejoin

    Think it’s mojang’s side

    Try uninstalling Minecraft completely, and re-installing it.
    As well do a clean install on your latest Video Card drivers.

    I too had these issues and eventually with a Mojang client update, fresh Minecraft install and a video card driver update, my issues were fixed.
