Ok, This may look like some scamming thread to snag 85k but I just really would like to be mayor. You may have seen one like this before and though you may think I'm some dupe money grabber (which some who sign contracts with me know it's true) But I'm only asking for your 5 minutes to read this thread. Then you can decide to donate or not, all up to you. Why I should be mayor (a couple reasons feel free to reply with questions) 1. I read the rules. (seriously if I didn't I shouldn't even be resident) 2. I have experience in server policies and customs. That explained in easier to understand words is: I have made some controversial contracts, they got removed and I know why. That may sound like a bad thing but it means I understand why and am learning the ins and outs of server rule loopholes that bad players may try to go through. As for other things, I've been banned once (you may have known) You want to know why? I got hijacked. I didn't hack, I didn't grief, I got hijacked. In a sentence: I can understand rules/regulations not just cause I read them, because how people use them. 3. I plan to make a town. It's called mayor for a reason, to make a town. So I will hold up to that and not just waste the 85k for the sake of ranks. 4. I know people/players If I didn't know anyone making a town would be hard. But since I'm in a town and have irl friends that play and don't have some weird urge to banish the admins to mars I think I'm good. 5. I play a lot I've played a pretty decent amount. I'm not addicted, but I'm not that guy who makes fundraiser thread after 1 hour of understanding it exists. Congratulations on setting a goal to get the Mayor rank! The only way I feel that begging for money would be considered scamming is if you do not use what is donated to you for the purchase of the rank (no lotto for example). These threads typically do not do well since this is a hardcore server and everyone works hard to achieve their goals. In order to help you, I do purchase cobble and sand for above server prices at my SpawnShop - Station12 - yellowmarket2 so if you are willing to work, I am willing to help get you there faster. It is a way I can help give back and I have several projects that require massive amounts of cobble and sand - and since I typically mine with eff 7 pick - I need cobble and am willing to purchase it above server price. Pretty much the same with sand - I just don't have the time to gather all that I need and figure it is a way for players to make something for an otherwise useless item - server pays a whopping Zero for sand. Hope this helps explain why.
Oh, this is no secret, but there are many players that do not want to take the extra time to make glass - or just need the money for sand. No different than the chests of ores that I sell - anybody can mine anytime, just many prefer to purchase than work - perhaps they like to fish or farm more. That is what makes this economy server strong - everyone has there own ways of earning or spending as they see fit.
Why not go mining and earn the money? Don't understand people that won't earn money but instead ask for handouts instead. What makes you deserving of my money considering you won't work for any of it.
Yes. Many people on this server got their money legit. Not fair if you get this money for doing nothing when we work to get
This is completely voluntary btw I'm not forcing anyone clearly. If you need to spout off about making pages like this ask a rule creator (I don't know a name but someone with that power) to make it against the forum rules. I've seen similar posts so I tried it myself.
It has been suggested and requested numerous times to eliminate begging from threads and also from the general and trade chats - the best would be to have a begging channel and subsection on the forums. If you post a begging thread on a hardcore server where players spend their time working hard for their money, you have to expect some negative feedback. My personal thought is that I do not give to beggars, however, I do help those that will work for it. If you have seen similar posts, I am sure you had noticed the response is typically the same on all of them so Danielman33's response is not unusual.
I don't want to get rid of these threads as there is people who are willing to donate. I am just pointing out that most players work legit for what they have e.g ranks tools town etc.
