It is with sincerity that I announce the fall of the authoritative body of France. We are no longer led by any Mayor, as Hans_08 and Pruneda98 are both banned. The future of France therefore lies in the dark, murdered by a fair and honest ban as decreed by the Server-Owner himself. L'avenir de la France est dans nos mains. The future of France lies in our hands. Thus France has fallen, and I, as the humble storekeeper next to the portal, believe we have two options on what to do with the town: 1. Create a free-for-all. No more rights to our plots, no more Mayors, no more France. The town, although previously wealthy and successful, becomes abandoned and turns into ruins. Masses will flood through the portals to salvage their possessions within their plots before it's taken by griefers. 2. Establish a new authoritative body. Now that we own the town, what if we unite to establish a new Mayor of the people, elected by the people, for the people? The town is now in our hands, what if we decide on a Mayor to lead us, protect us, help us, until the previous authoritative body can be resumed or until the town does finally collapse? I would today campaign for the establishment of a Commune Provisoire de la France, a Parliament consisting of us residents to dictate the future of our town, if approved by the Server-Owner himself. Whilst the fate of France ultimately lies in his hands, and the question of whether France is to fall alongside its Mayors or continue past them can only be answered by him, we can begin to form our ranks and unite in brotherly bonds to await our answers, and if disapproved, we will disperse and wave au revoir to our town, and if approved we will be ready to establish this new Commune. The future of France is in our hands, and the first consensus that must take place is that of whether we now falter and fall for our Mayors, or whether we now prepare to decree our laws and commence our reformations. Unless there are a large numbers of objections, or the Server-Owner demands the closure of this thread and the collapse of France, I will assume responsibility for this consensus, and would appreciate it if each resident could /pm me or /mail me their votes for France's future (by either saying "Unity", "Division" or "Uninterested") between the 30th of September and the 7th of October. The answers to the poll of this thread won't be considered official, and votes shall remain anonymous and secret, but screenshots of them taken so that if there are any accusations of rigging, a moderator will be able to check them. If either Mayor returns before October the 7th, or the Server-Owner denies the approval of the establishment of the Committee, then consider this thread null and void. If there is a general agreement that I am to be overturned as the organiser of the first consensus, then I shall accept this overturning and will forward any already-passed votes to the new organiser. If the voting is successful, we shall have a new Mayor by the 14th, and at least two weeks of provisional control. Until then, comrades, we are left to our devices. I am also aware that I am walking on territories rigged with landmines here, and that my words in this thread may not be considered the most compliant to the wish of the moderators, but I pray that the viewer and reader understands that this thread is not published with bad intentions, and is only created to suggest a way forward for a town that is now stripped of its glory. I welcome all residents to respond to this thread with their feedback on my mere suggestion, and I shall be happy to answer any questions that rise. This is not a dictatorial power I am trying to obtain here, or a definitive cause forward - I am happy for residents to outvote my suggestions and take their own control of plots, but at this current point in time, I would assume my suggestions to be sensible to put into practice. * May I state here, in contradiction to my original post, that if agreed by the residents, I would in fact be happier to have someone else assume responsibility for the first consensus, so that it can take less time and restore order sooner.
Except that the Mayor is banned. So we are hoping for permission to elect a provisional Mayor in the case that they do not return. Sincerest apologies!!
Just because a user is banned doesnt mean ownership gets transfered, the user who now has owner will be kept as owner of the town, and no other user will be given the town.
With due respect, I have been told that the bans issued on both players have not been lenient and that they are unlikely to return soon, and thus feel it important to prioritise the continuation of the town. I rest the final decision to be in the hands of the Server-Owner, but please do not feel as though I do not acknowledge and understand your reasoning and the validity of your arguments. Currently, there is nobody to protect our plots. This is in appeal, before one of seizure of rights, for someone to protect those plots. A provisional Mayor.
Re-reading the situation of Hans_08, I feel as though I ought to apologise, the situation regarding his ban is not as severe as I had assumed it would be, and the current procession regarding accusations of his scamming may be closed in his favour due to lack of evidence. In this sense, my response was wrong, and if a resolution can be reached soon and Hans_08 may return to the server, then this thread's existence is somewhat pointless. I now feel as though I have been meddling in subjects that I ought not to have meddled in, and only hope that this situation can be sorted out by the higher authorities of the server and my attempts to restore what could be an unneeded order forgiven and forgotten. We await the judgement of the moderators regarding Hans_08's ban and accusations of scamming.
The current banned mayor may actually be able to return far sooner then you believe, they have just need to appeal their ban and go from there.

It's for a month at least. Don't worry, it's all been sorted out and, most importantly, France now has a Mayor.
Hans_08 OUR MAYOR HAS BEEN BANNED AGAIN FOR MELON-SWORD SCAMMING. On a more worrying note - has anyone else been noticing that small griefs are beginning to accumulate around the town? Residents, take up your rights and file your grief reports! Protect our town!
FRANCE HAS COLLAPSED. We have no Mayor, and an unrealistic chance of any of the previous Mayors returning. All we now have are false claimants to the Mayorship, and we need to reform ourselves urgently or accept the death of one of the greatest towns on ECC. We must form our bureaus and our communes, our parliaments and our revolts, we must form our consensuses and pass our laws, or we risk losing all that we have worked for. VIVE LA FRANCE!
