Dude, I know chain armor is rare but iron is better and in my opinion it looks better then chain too. I think that 10000 is crazy. I would only pay 500 at the most for the chain chestplate. Also, chain armor is worst then iron which is a really common material.
A chain chestplate is an unobtainable dude. I'm pretty sure its worth 100 nether stars so if you don't like it, don't buy it. You won't get a chain chestplate for 500 and its not for the amount of the protection, but its for people who like it for the looks.
