yea i heard andy's not gonna allow sugarcane to be moved cause then people are gonna make "auto farms" with redstone and so sugarcane will be banned making no farming availible...(except for wheat)

    Still isnt automatic though,
You need to puch a button for it to work (auto-harvest)

You could probably make one if you put repeaters and stuff on it but it would be way too much effort.

It would cost like 50k to make and then you get 1.5 harvest, almost pointless

    no.... o.o

Redstone isn't that expensive, and the recipe for a piston only involves one piece of redstone, and one iron ingot. The majority of the resources are cheap and easily accessible, IE Cobblestone and Planks.

In addition, yes, Andrew is more-than-likely going to make it so pistons cannot push reeds. It will prevent someone from making an automatic(or Semi-automatic) farm.

It would actually cost a ton to make an efficient semi-auto or full-auto sugarcane farm. Would need to be really big, so you'd need many, many stacks of redstone.. And when I sell 3-5 stacks of redstone, I get 2-5k or something absurd. >_> Would drain your money quite fast. You'd make the money back eventually, but I just don't see it being worth it.

Well I did it in like 15 minutes and I took a half a stack of redstone so it wasn't that hard and to let you now this is on my single player world
