Eulerville town rules Spoiler: Rules Rule 0: Needless to say, all normal server rules apply. In particular, this includes Section 5, Clause 3: "By owning the town, a town Mayor has the right to remove you from the town at any time, for any reason, so long as the Mayor gives the user a 3 day eviction notice." The present town rules are not meant to restrict members' or mayor's rights, but to provide a clear idea of when the mayor is most likely to actually exercise such right in the best interest of the town. Rule 1: Do not grief. Griefing is absolutely not allowed: users caught griefing will be evicted immediately and with no chance of appeal. Moreover, a grief report will be filed, with the likely consequence of staff banning the user from the whole server as well (ban from server is out of mayor's control and at staff discretion, but it's a very likely consequence: Section 2, Clause 1). Rule 2: Do not steal. Despite the fact that unlocked chests are considered fair play according to the server rules (Section 1, Clause 4), it's desirable to have a friendly and trusting environment in town. User caught stealing stuff belonging to other members will receive a formal eviction notice and will be given 3 days to leave town and remove all their locks. Rule 3: Do not build outside of your plot. Building outside of your plot is considered griefing and will be treated as such. You may build up to 21 blocks high. In no way you may build below your plot, as the area below Y=80 is reserved for public town farm. If you wish to build more than 21 blocks high, you may talk to the mayor explaining your project, and he might allow you to. Rule 4: Do not tamper with prebuilt layout. When purchasing a prebuilt, you are allowed some minor tweaking, such as placing the obvious storage chests and/or moving the light sources. This does not include changing the internal furniture and even more so the overall house exterior. Only exception is when purchasing an unfurnished apartment: in that case, you are allowed to place furniture according to your taste, but in any case you can't change the building layout. All this, unless given explicit permission by mayor. Rule 5: Do not build ugly blocks. Despite beauty is a matter of taste, blatantly ugly buildings are not allowed. For example: monolithic cubes occupying the whole area or, maybe even worse, monolithic parallelepipeds floating above your house in a most unnatural way. If something is considered ugly and unfit to town, you will have to arrange with mayor reasonable terms for demolition or restoration of the building: should you refuse to comply, formal eviction will follow. Rule 6: Farming rules. There's a (huge) public farm below town under construction: all members are allowed to use it. If you farm something that needs replanting, then you must do so: avoiding this duty will be considered griefing. The presence of a public farm also means that it's highly discouraged to build private intensive farms in your own plot, as there's really no need for it and the very likely outcome would be something very ugly looking (see rule 5). Decorative gardens are, of course, immune of this and may be even encouraged. Rule 7: No trolling. Trolling includes, but is not limited to, being a jerk and locking stuff that does not belong to you and/or is located outside your plot. Rule 8: Report any problems to mayor. You may live the town socially or mind your own business, that's at your sole discretion. However, should you spot a problem with town -even not directly related to you- you must immediately make the mayor aware of it. For example this includes, but is not limited to, spotting any other member violating town rules, or noticing that something was griefed (even without knowing who in particular did it). Rule 9: Eviction. Users inactive for more than 15 days may be evicted (but it usually takes much longer before mayor proceeds). Being unable to login because of a server ban will not constitute an excuse for inactivity in any way. No form of compensation will be given in case of eviction for any reason. Should you plan a long inactivity, tell the mayor first, and you will be granted a reasonably longer inactivity time safe from eviction.
