This is the official thread of the ECC Town Insurance Co.! Welcome! By popular demand, I explored this aspect of insurance, and decided to embark on it! Hopefully explaining this insurance is much easier than my tool insurance Buying a policy for this insurance will protect your town from any grief that does not get rollbacked from a grief report. Some scenarios: If a rollback is requested on a grief report and is granted, this insurance may not cover anything. If a rollback is requested on a grief report and is denied (due to the total value not being $7,500), this insurance will cover the full cost of all blocks found to be destroyed at 1.05 times the server price (/sell hand value.) If a rollback is not even requested on a grief report (due to the judgement of the town owner), this insurance will cover the full cost of all blocks found to be destroyed at 1.05 times the server price (/sell hand value.) All blocks found to be destroyed will be listed by the staff member covering the grief report in their response that locks the grief report. That report is the only calculation I will be using. I will investigate the town to my discretion but, since I don’t have investigator, I will be taking the staff member’s word for all the blocks that were destroyed. Also, since staff members do list broken crops, this insurance does cover farms! Since I am only offering one level of insurance (full insurance up to $7,500), all these payments will be in dollars instead of percentages. These payments are mandatory to continue coverage as dictated by your policy. $400 will be due when your policy is opened (initiation fee.) This will also count for your first week’s premium. $250 will be due every Sunday by 10pm EST (premium.) $50 will be collected for every claim you make (deductible.) If you miss your premium one week, you will have until the next premium is due to continue your town’s coverage. If you miss two premiums at any time during your coverage, the policy may be recognized as “null and void” by sick24 and any claim made may be denied. You are free to cancel your policy at any time, sick24 must be contacted for approval of the cancellation and no refunds of premiums are guaranteed. If you know you are going to miss a premium’s payment, you must contact sick24 to request a ‘holiday’ explaining your situation and when the missed premium will be paid. Here is the application to request a policy*: *By requesting a policy, you certify that you have read and understood all the listed rules and regulations in this thread. You certify that you are willing to comply with the insurance company’s policy and will accept future revisions to the policies (given by the company with at least 3 days notice to all policy-holders.) You certify that you understand that you may lose a significant amount of the premiums you pay should, I will do my best to avoid, complete bankruptcy of the insurance company occur. You understand that sick24 is not liable for any losses due to a policy, and that the agreements made here are not endorsed by the server and are not an ‘agreement’ or ‘formal contract’ in any way, shape, or form; they are merely a loose mutual understanding and cannot be punished by the server in any way. (Updated Jan 5th, 2014) To initiate a claim, should one need to be made, the policy holder will need to reply to the forum pm sick24 messages you with when you purchased your policy: Begin your response in the forum pm with: “[Town insurance claim] <Townname>” Linked grief report: A way to get to the town: (eg portal, warp, tp) Date of policy purchase: *Note: The payout from a claim may be any value up to the full value of the policy’s worth. The value of a claim will be determined by sick24. In the event of a town sale, the old town owner must pm sick24 notifying myself of the town being sold and, presumably, the current policy being cancelled. The new town owner may request a policy at any time.
