How about a donator channel in-game, you know, a channel only donators for the server have access to. It would only be seen by donators, and only donators could talk in it. I was thinking about it because it would be something to separate the normal users from the donators more. And maybe get away from all the global craziness and "hang out" with the other donators. I don't know if this would be considered "pointless" but I'd love to be able to get away from global sometimes...it's just too fast recently. And this is the only way I could think of to get away from some of the chat without leaving ALL of the chat. (You know, besides local/alert/trade) It would also make it easier to talk to a group of people when you can't use local because you're not near them, and you can't use global because the chat is fast, and you can't PM more than one person at a time. etc...
Or, you could have a residents+ channel, mayors+,etc. Or you would be able to purchase a private chat channel with EcoDollars or IRL money. The private channel would allow you to add people to the channel, remove people, etc. That would maybe be easier.
Private channels being purchasable will cause a huge amount of channels that cannot be monitored by moderators. Residents+ would be just as bad as global, since everyone above residents can see it. :/ There are much fewer mayors than residents, so it wouldn't be nearly as bad. Just a second Global channel (Global 2, /ch g2) would help tremendously. Would be easier for moderators, and people could go to one or the other if one becomes insane, has a topic that they don't want to see, or has too many convos going on to keep up, etc. When joining the game you could join one randomly and not be in the other, or be in whichever (or both) you were previously...
OR! we could have a channel for people on before the 500 slots thing. So you would be able to talk to people that were more senior, before 500 people joined :/
Uhm this would be really complicated to work out... Cause theres 1 channel 2 channels oh wait soon there comes 50 more...
There is no way Andrew is going to look through a list of the 500 first players and add them one by one. As well, nobody else would even be able to join. Ever. So it would kinda be dull.
Not the first 500, just the people before andrew changed to 500 slots. But, yeah, that would be hard to add people. NEW IDEA! GROUP PM'S! It would be something like: /tell (name) as usual, then /invite (username). Wouldnt that be cool?
