Welcome to the Port City of Corsair!! This is the official thread for the city and you will be able to find all the available information here. When this city is opened to residents, this will be the place to check! Corsair is going to be a pre-built town based upon a story I personally wrote. Corsair will be themed around pirates and the British Empire. The time period is the same as the famous movies series "Pirates of the Caribbean" and will feature many cool era specific features and pieces. Prices have not been determined for the houses yet, however, as soon as they are they will be posted here. Another piece of important information is though this town may be made to fit in a specific era, this town is not a role playing town and still acts as a normal town. I am acting Mayor and the Co-Mayor is craziestmonkey. Though the town is still under construction, feel free to pm us in game or reply to this thread if you have a question.
Here is the history and inspiration for the Port City of Corsair, which I wrote myself. Corsair... The famous Carribean port city of the British Empire. That is... until the local pirates banded together under one flag and one leader – SirSolo11. A man of humble beginnings, SirSolo11 grew up in the town of Corsair under the protection of the Empire’s best frigates and galleys. He had many friends ranging from fellow school mates to the local British guards. SirSolo11 got along with everyone he met and as he got older he was always surrounded by people eager to get his attention. SirSolo11 turned out to be a very charismatic leader in the city and always tried to do the best for the city’s people and prosperity. But, soon, just as in the American Colonies, the British Empire started raising taxes on all imports. Now the citizens of Corsair were barely able to make a living having to depend on each other more than ever. Seeing the people’s suffering and hearing about the success about of the American Revolution, SirSolo11 decided freedom was the best path for the city. One late night, SirSolo11 met with all the leaders and prominent people of the city and suggested secession from the Empire. After hours of debate, the decision was made, war. Having made the decision to rebel against the British Empire, SirSolo11 was given the position of military commander, due to the fact that no one had any military experience. Knowing the city had no military, besides the British soldiers stationed there, SirSolo11 knew there was only one way to get a military fast, pirates. SirSolo11 set out with a plan, contact all pirates in the local waters and make them an offer. The offer: liberate Corsair from British hands and in return get permanent refuge in the city. SirSolo11 understood that opening the city to pirates was a risk but, it was a risk he had to take. Hundreds upon hundreds of pirates flocked to the rear of the island, where SirSolo11 told them to meet. There were pirates of all kinds here, famous pirates, new pirates, old pirates, and ruthless pirates. Using all of his inherent speaking skills and his charismatic demeanor, SirSolo11 spoke to the pirates as he had never spoke to anyone before. He spoke of the prosperity that would come from all the pirates uniting under his banner and how having a pirate city would bring in chest loads of gold for the pirates. The pirates were convinced that it was to their benefit to unite one banner and one man, SirSolo11’s Pirate Nation: The Pirates of Liberty. The rebellion of Corsair lasted 2 years, during that time the actual city of Corsair changed hands many times. SirSolo11 became a trusted and respected captain aboard his flagship, “The Creeper’s Skull.” Now, more than just his words united the pirates, his actions did as well, “The Creeper’s Skull” sank eight frigates by herself. After losing thirty frigates and galleys along with hundreds of men, the British Empire could no longer afford to wage a war for just one island. The Empire decided to let it go, and thus the island of Corsair was now free and under the protection of the Pirates of Liberty. After liberating Corsair from the British, SirSolo11 let the pirates take their leave when they wished. As agreed upon, Corsair now allowed all pirates to come and dock at the city and to trade with the people. The pirates and the people all got along well and had one thing in common, a general respect and admiration for Captain SirSolo11. The people soon elected SirSolo11 as Mayor and protector of the city. All the other pirate members of the Liberty Pirates went off their own ways but, if needed, will return if called. SirSolo11’s ship, the “Creeper’s Skull” sits moored in the harbor, ready to defend the great island again. -All of the preceding writing is intellectual property of the Writer and are copyrighted.
