Felon Username: Alcro1998 Complaint: I am by no means a veteran of ECC. I am also not very knowledgeable about various commands. I have all of my chests on /cprivate. I was told by this player that using /cdonation will allow viewing and adding of items to the chest, but not removing, which I got confirmed by another player. I came back to look through my chest later and find that all of my high level books have been replaced by low level versions. This is obviously a MAJOR bug that is being exploited by this player. Evidence: Sinder33, who has investigation, noticed that these book replacements were not being logged. I handed him a book so that he could try to replicate the replacement, and it worked. Apparently books in /cdonation chests can be replaced with lower level books, which is a big problem. On top of that, it isn't logged, so an investigator cannot determine who replaced a book. Additional Information: I lost most of my valuable books. This list contains all of the books I had pre-scam. Most of the books that this player replaced mine with are the lowest levels of the versions I had. If you want a new list of the books I have post-scam/exploit, I can provide one.
will just add: bug report have been posted by me:http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/cdonation-big-bug.39611/
Hello JJlava, I am sorry this has happened to you, but before I can take any action on looking into this I need some proof that the user did this, if you have any screenshots of this user saying this, and then proof of him abusing this I will be able to take action, but until then there is nothing the staff team can do on this, I will allow this thread to remain open for 24 hours for the adding for screenshots, if they are not, you can post a new complaint if you manage to them afterwards. Also, if you have any more question on this issue, feel free to pm me, or any other staff member in-game or on the forums to ask. Left unlocked for 24 hours to allow additional evidence to be posted.
Unfortunately, I did not take screenshots. If I was hesitant about him stealing anything, I would've taken preemptive screenshots, just in case. I thought /cdonation was safe to use for letting other players view and add items, without having to fear any thievery. It was this unfortunate enchanted book bug that allowed this player to not only replace my books with worthless ones, but also evade being logged into the chest's history. If this was by my own negligence, I would have just taken the hit and moved on, but it was not. I did not expect this result, nor would most people. If you want to see the potential of this exploit, check out sinder33's thread that is posted above. Jetscat also posted a video on that very thread that records the exploit.
Hello JJLava, As of this in a complaint, there is no action I can take against the user in this case for stealing your books, as there is no evidence that I can see. As for the bug where you can swap items this is being tested by the staff team, and this bug should be removed soon, but for the items you lost there is nothing I can do about it, as I do not have the power to refund items. Until this bug is fixed, I would recommend that all users do not use donation chests for any enchanted items, I am sorry that you were the victim of this new bug. No action taken. Locked.
