I seen that you have colored signs in the spawn, and I know that you can give a group permission to use them (I have worked with this plugin myself), so I thought it would be cool if you would allow Mayors/Presidents to use colored signs. I don't know if you can do this but make it to were they can only use the colored signs in their town(s).
There is a way because i made my own plugin doing just that: only problem? No permissions to prevent others to use it
Just because you made your own plugin that does the same thing as the plugin they use, doesn't mean theirs doesn't have permissions. Also, the way the "only inside town thing would work" is that it would be a town special feature, and if the mayor/president was caught using it outside of their town, they would get that feature taken away.
It can't or won't ever be $5 - due to PayPal taxes and fees. I would suggest this being either a $10 Donator Perk or a $10, 000 EcoDollars feature ofr Mayors +. Why so much for just coloured signs? It's because if it's unavailability for most - which makes your town all the more unique if you have it. If every town had coloured signs - Eh, yours would be not much more special.
Well, there is some sense in that. Players can sell tps, water buckets, and stuff from signs, so why not let them sell colored signs? Then there might be some payback for the donators that buy the ability. Although (this is just my observation), given the complexity of a sign-making contract (between two players), I can see a lots of arguments developing out of this. In truth, that's not directly related to sign-making, it's a secondary issue. I don't know if it's possible or not, but what-if there was a means for a player to buy the ability to make a fixed number of colored signs? So, as an example, I could spend ECD10k or $10 and make 100 colored signs. That would put a natural price of ECD100 or $.1 on each sign. If a player could buy "signs" and then produce an unlimited number, there would be no incentive for any other player to buy "signs". Imagine that (and I am not suggesting this at all) there were a feature "diamonds", such that each player who bought it could produce unlimited diamonds. What would be the effects? Logically, the player who bought the feature would make their money back (through diamond sales to Sios). Then what? Reasonably, everyone would begin begging for free diamonds. I would imagine that a price-crash in diamonds would result. Now, as an alternative to "diamonds", what if the feature were "100 diamonds" or "500 diamonds"? Such that, the "100 diamonds" feature provided the donator the ability to produce 100 diamonds. Then, by giving a donator a limited supply of a scarce resource, the market for that resource can be preserved while rewarding the donator. So, if we wanted to keep "signs" valuable, the reasonable course of action is to allow a donator a limited supply of colored signs. I bring this up, because if the donator can produce an unlimited number of signs, the feature will be more of a curse than a blessing. Many of the players who are not interested in paying for the feature will, no doubt, harass to heck out of the guy who can make colored-signs. I think the idea is to keep the feature valuable, without making everyone crazy with greed. As an addendum, rather than making it a $5 stand-alone feature (which is tricky with paypal), it could be a $5+ feature. Suppose I bought $10 worth of ECD, if I paid $15, I could get "signs" plus the money. Then, "signs" would have a relatively small cost, but encourage larger purchases.
Denying other users isn't so much of an issue and if that ever were to become the problem then simply hiking the price, like I had with teleports and water buckets would be the resolve. That would be far too much of a workload for andrewkm to do that and overall might just be a bit complex with the whole work around. I do see your point in this and I guess ultimately it's up for andrew to decide if he's willing to do that or not.
