First off let me give some background information...

I am a junior in high school and i'm curious about my future. In a few days i sign up for classes (Senior Year). However im stuck in between some complications. My main interests for a long-term career is doing something with computers or medical, i want to be either a computer scientist or a surgical technologist specifically. Following this paragraph their will be three options i'm willing to take as to go foward, and moving on to college.

Going to summarize these options as best as i can.

First Option [Becoming a Surgical Tech *Least Expensive]
~Sign up for early graduation (which means i graduate as a senior in December rather than June)
    ~Get out of high school
~Work that whole semester im out for college tuition
~Go to a Community College for 2 Years (After that i would become a surgical technologist)
    ~Cheapest route ^
    ~Get a full time job

Second Option[Becoming a computer scientist *Most Expensive]
~Go through a complete year of high school and graduate in June
~Apply and hopefully get into a 4 year university
    ~Get a student loan
~Go through that with my major being computer science
~Graduate College with a Degree in computer science
    ~Full time job

Third Option[Becoming a computer scientist *Semi Expensive]
    ~Get early graduation
~Work for tuition during my semester off
~Go to community college for two years then transfer to University for two years to get my degree in computer science
    ~Graduate College with a Degree
    ~Full time job

    ***Complications with the Options
~Cousin is doing option 2 at the moment he graduates this year from college with his major also being computer science
~Told me that doing option 3 would be difficult because of the community college to university jump
~Going with option three also means i have the chance to just become a surgical tech rather than becoming a computer scientist.

Questions i would like answered if you decide to reply back:
    1. Which Option you think is best? (Explain)
    2.Any personally tips or advice?

Any help is awesome, i really need someone elses opinion about my situation
*If you have any specific questions about each option or the situation in general please reply or pm me

well, although I am not an adult, I was raised in an Chinese-Canadian family, and stereo typically this is all my family talks about.

    1. Which Option you think is best? (Explain) I recently went to an university tour (University of Waterloo) and went on the computer science tour. It is an amazing field, but they said that it is extremely hard and extremely costly. Compter Science is about the hardest course you can take in university, besides double degree programs and such. It is extremely hard to get the grasp, and if you don't know C,C#,C+ already, you're doomed. However, there are many job oppurtunities and when you work co-op you'll most likely get hired by the company.
    2.Any personally tips or advice?
    Bring rice cookers.

I'm technically an adult now, and my parents planned to put me in Running Start... I do my last two years of highschool thru college, and everything I am doing is college for highschool and college credits. I'm kind of immediately forced to decide on things, though I have it easier in other ways.

Anyway, I don't know much about either of those two careers. Whichever you would enjoy more and can give you more job options later would be the best choice, so long as it's not too insanely hard to achieve. I would go with the easiest option, though; after you finish that (don't most career paths require much more than just 2-4 years of education, and education in other courses?), get a job and get started making money, you can always go back to college later for the other thing.

I would also consider living costs if you haven't already. o.o If you haven't chosen/toured/applied for any colleges, or even researched any yet, I would do that before choosing any option. Nearby community colleges may not be "up to standard" or have what you really need for computer science or a surgical tech. I'm guessing you've done some research already, but if you haven't, I wouldn't consider living and travel costs, as well as tuition. xP
