Minecraft Username: pnygren Brief Description: Was farming jungle trees for saplings today 3/8, along with saplings dropping from the leaves apples were also dropping too, around 15-30 apples per jungle tree. I have tested this on about 4-6 trees wild & protected, all tree types. Instructions: 1. Find or plant tree 2. Destroy leaves 3. Apples sometimes drop. (sapling drop rate seems to be the same) How many times did you recreate this bug?: 4-6 times/trees. Result: Jungle leaves drop apples. Also tried birch/pine same result, drops apples. Expected Result: Only to drop saplings. Less drop rate chance of apples. Evidence: Got 30 apples from one 90 block tall jungle tree, 18 from another. A few from pine/birch.
I can confirm this. I don't mind it though, it makes treefarming more profitable thus balancing it out with other farming and mining.
Apples should drop from trees and have since before we updated to 1.2. I don't know if jungle normally was supposed to, but all others are supposed to. 15+ from one tree isn't normal. I think it's supposed to be about 1 apple every 60 leaves.
60 leaves? :| Try more like 200. In any case, I'm fine with this as long as it doesn't make nearly as much money as mining. (I have my reasons, which I've stated in another thread before.)
