Note: I have mcmmo x4 and this was happening before the cap increase. Instructions: Mine iron or gold ore, not with a silk touch and have flux mining activate. How many times did you recreate this bug?: Up to 100 times, I don't really count. Result: Don't get same exp as mining ore. Expected Result: Get mcmmo mining exp. Sorry for the slow reply, I have posted a ticket asking the devs about this, however I am still waiting for a reply. Personally I do not think you are meant to gain mining experience from this skill as Flux Mining is actually part of the Smelting skill and not the Mining skill. The smelting skill in a child skill to both mining and repair and not the other way around. So because Flux Mining is a smelting skill not a mining skill you can't earn experience in mining when it actives, you would instead earn experience in smelting. However Smelting does not have an experience system of its own, its level is based on your mining/repair levels. I am however still waiting for a reply to be 100% sure and if I am incorrect then I will post here explaining, but I think this is the most likely explanation. TL;DR Flux mining is not a mining skill its a smelting skill so you don't get mining experience when flux mining activates.
I understand the fact it is a smelting skill and not a mining skill, however it still seems a bug that you don't get exp from just mining the iron ore, like you would if you mined iron ore and it didn't activate.
