Minecraft Name: lambielove Suggestion: To create a “buddy system.” Whenever a new player joins, they can receive a message or see a post about it in the tutorial about the system. The system would work that a experienced player would take the new player under their wing, and walk them through ECC until they get to resident or been on for 1 month. Both parties also have the choice to choose to become buddies or not. For example, if a builder needs a buddy they need to wait for someone to volunteer. Reason: ECC is in desperate need of new players. This will allow new players to apply if they want to get an experienced player buddy. Maybe, for an incentive, there can be forum rewards for having enough “buddies.” Any Other Information: Yes, this may sound completely and utterly stupid. But this will have new players to have a reason to stick around, and it’s not like we are forcing a pairing. It also gives experienced players a reason to stay. Also: This system can be temporary. For example, if player count if falling very short, we could enact the buddy system until player count is decent again. Or we can just use it until skyblock. Link To This Plugin: N/A.
I don’t think this really needs the help of the devs for. It’s a good idea but more so something that is done out of the kindness of someone’s own heart. Plus if you really wanted to help a new guys out, just invite em to your party and go with the flow from there

As for the suggestion, I understand what you would like to see lambie, but feel that we have many players that do stay with the current loosely based system and would prefer to see our developer work on other projects for now. I realize our ways are not perfect, however, I feel there are many players that make a huge difference in getting players interested in staying...cough...Lady...DIP...and so many others...cough. This server is not for everyone and many players leave not because of lack of buddies, but because of many other factors. The "grindfest" is not for everyone

Anyone can do this based on their financial standing irl, so i wouldn't call people like me stupid. Unfortunately I have school, an internship and lots of things going on and will be soon helping run a franchise at the end of May. I love playing ECC but I don't have enough time to devote hours upon hours to farming and mining to make money and I like money, so I don't mind spending money on something I love. I do how ever, DO not like spending money on something that seems to be on its downhill course because of the lack of players. I think this buddy system is a good idea but it doesn't need to be implemented into the server as a feature. It needs to be implemented into the community as a whole and we need to work harder to keep the new players from leaving ECC. I once gave a builder 15k for resident to see if that would be his motivation to play ECC he was very active and then one day I never saw him again. If the head people are not going to fix this problem we need to fix it as a community. As a whole I think we can make ECC great again.
Shout out to all who haven’t quit!! This server only exist because of these players.. yeah new players are great and we need them but find me another real economy Minecraft server with a community as great as ours with players that have been loyal for over 5 years? Oh wait... you can’t. They don’t exist. Trust me I’ve played them all. Honestly man I don’t get the hate you have for this server... yet you continue to remain here.. it’s getting old and annoying. Of course your not the first and won’t be the last.. I’ve seen so many over 6 years. As for the suggestion... we have mods for a reason. They are your buddy system so to speak. At least that’s how I remember it. Also many vets/former staff are always helping where they can. All a new player has to do is be brave enough to ask for help and I am confident on ECC they will get it.

Knowing Jamie and Andrew I would bet there not taking their sweet time for nothing. Just have to wait and see. The truth is... a player will only stay if this is the experience they are looking for.. it’s not for everyone as we see in the posts above so no one is going to change that. Like I said we can cater to new players or we can focus on improving the experience for the existing players and hope that may bring in newer players. If it was me I would focus on that more.
It's not that I hate the server, it's people like Magiix and Scott for example that just make me hate being around. They've turned me bitter :^) I love the server but some people have ruined my view on it forever, some of which have been here for almost it's whole, shall we say, duration.
Well then I would imagine that’s not gonna change since most of “those” people aren’t going anywhere. So maybe it’s time to put your big boy pants on and either try to enjoy the experience and let others do the same.. or move on and find one that you would like better. Trolls are always here.. you can’t get rid of them. Just learn to ignore them. The thing that bothers me the most is the disrespect you have for the people who work hard to make this server function. I don’t care if you like them or not.. they still deserve respect.

Thanks. I hate to admit it, but trolls HAVE taken over. But I feel it’s mostly because they feel that they have nothing better to do than stir up drama. This applies to everyone. BUT- We are a family, and like family we fight with each other, hurt each other, and lift each other up. Just because we are going through a mundane period does not mean that we have to privilege to stir up fun no matter what the cost. ECC is dying, but it’s also immortal. It’s not going to be dead anytime soon. The fact if we get new players or not is the problem, but maybe we don’t want new players. Maybe we just want to stay a tight knit community. Either way, I’m done with these conversations because all we are doing is just acting like children and expect Andrew or Jamie to give us something fun to play with. So let’s let them take their time because this is freaking Minecraft. So everyone, realize that yes this may be a pay to win server, but this is OUR pay to win server.
