So, my town is pretty busy, and I have a bunch of players who mention often how they get "lag" in certain parts of town. Maybe my computer is a little better, or maybe I just don't notice it. Purpose of this thread: in your experience, what causes the most lag in towns? Are there things that players think cause lag that really don't? How much can a particular lag problem be attributed to the server, and how much to the player's computer/client? As the town gets bigger and more complicated, the comments increase. What have more experienced town owners done to combat lag? Things that shouldn't be built in a town, rules that prevent it, any ideas at all? And yes, all of this is a nice problem to have. Thanks!
Well, I am not too experienced with this as I do not own any towns *cough cough*. Anyways, to address the problem, do you have any mobs in your town? I know mob farms are know to lag a lot, as well as regular farms. I would also cut down on the amount of running water and redstone. I hope this helps
Trade signs and vines also tend to cause FPS lag... Sometimes mass amounts of water will (at least in my experience).
I find that the areas that I spend the most time in lag the least, my theory being that my computer is more "familiar" with these specific areas so that it can load chunks easier... I don't know, I'm just kind of going off of my soapbox
